If the guesses are right, I don't think I'll want a single game in the bundle, but I like to buy them then never open the email, so it could be perfect for that!

  • It's also telling me I still have over 45 hours to buy, so for me, not the last day...

There is a chance that they won't be on bundle list or atleast some of them. The reason I said that many games that are on bundle belong to tier 3 aren't on bundle list ( most of the time tier 3 is around $12-$15 prices range)

• 1 hot title - Less than one year old. - ???

• 1 highly-acclaimed title - Between one to two years old. > I would assume this is Saints Row IV, even though the game is a little bit over two years old, it doesn't fit in any of the other categories.

• 1-2 hit indie games.

  • Probably one of the two is Besiege? I don't mind this.
  • The other is most likely Legend of Grimrock 2. At least I knew this was coming when I signed up.

• 1-2 hidden gems from developers. - ???

So which category would Valkyria Chronicles fall under? I really hope it isn't the "hot" title. It may be less than a year old on Steam, but the game was released years ago on PS3 and I think it's kinda unfair to have it be considered "Less than one year old". Assuming Valkyria Chronicles is a "hidden gem", I wonder what the "hot" title will be.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

These are my guesses for which category each game falls into:

1 hot title - Less than one year old

  • Crypt of the Necrodancer: Skeleton hint
(While it was in early access before 2015, it officially came out in April this year.)

1 highly-acclaimed title - Between one to two years old

  • Saints Row IV: Fleur-de-lis hint

1-2 hit indie games

  • Lethal League: Boom box hint
  • Besiege: Catapult hint

1-2 hidden gems from developers

  • Valkyria Chronicles: Windmills hint
  • ???: Bombs + Arrows hint (Maybe Towerfall Ascension/Oceanhorn/LoZ-like game?)

1 Bonus Game

  • Legend of Grimrock 2: Lantern hint
(I'm not sure if this hint is supposed to be Legend of Grimrock 2)

Necrodancer's skeletons don't have swords, AFAIK. The hint looks more like Shovel Knight (to counterbalance all those shovelwares… badum tss)

I had to look it up, and the pose & sword of the skeleton would fit shovel knight, but sadly their skeletons seem to have armour, which this one lacks.

It's hard to conclude that from such a small and incomplete picture. How about this one though?

Well, we can always hope. I haven't seen anything that is a perfect fit though. That's also assuming that the art is intended to be hyper accurate to the source material, which we can't conclude. I swear it seems familiar somehow though. I just can't place it.

I suppose one could just go into it with the idea that one might receive some really good stuff to trade. (That's my thought. The odds of them giving all games I actually want to activate are really low.)

My thoughts exactly. A lot of the hints seem pretty open to interpretation. But I figure Humble will act in their own self-interest. And their self-interest, in this case, involves making this first month really attractive.

Is that a sure thing? No. But it strikes me as a very likely one.

You have some time, from faq future bundles should be charged around 1 week before unlock (so around 3 weeks from now).

But if they release a game earlier (as this first time with Legends of Grimrock 2) you won't be allowed to unsubscribe. That part is a bit tricky :/ But it seems it only happens for the first time you subscribe (so if someone subscribe for the December bundle, they will receive one of the games earlier than the old subscribers, just to avoid they unsubscribe their first month)

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Well, I guess I can just unsubscribe today and forget about it XD There is no penalty for unsubscribing, right?

Permalink

Nope just unsubscribe right after games are available. Plan on doing the same.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

No penalties, afaik. What I don't know is if you subscribe again you will count as a new subscriber and receive the game earlier being not able to cancel the December bundle

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It is my understanding that the first time bonus game is from the previous months bundle. So if someone signs up starting with the December bundle they will get one of the games from the November bundle not one from the December bundle.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

lol no, if someone subscribe for the December bundle, they will receive one of the 'good' games from the bundle earlier. It would be insane if they received a bundle and a half for the same price. It is design

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

EDIT: You are... right D:

first-time subscribers receive instant access to one of the top titles from the previous month."

So the December subscribers will receive their bundle and one of the games of this bundle.... It smells like the next bundle is gonna be worse than this one (they are going to receive an extra game for the same price...)

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

it doesn't show it will be worse. the bonus game for the november subscribers is log2 since there is no previous month's bundle yet. it's the same system. doesn't matter when you subscribe for the first time, you'll get a bonus game on your first month.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Isn't considered 'log2' as part of the November bundle? But I suppose we won't know it until we see the content of both bundles and calculate their 'real' price. I will feel disappointed if the first bundle is less worth than the second one.

So I just bought this using Paypal, got an email from Paypal saying
You sent a payment of $12.00 USD to Humble Bundle, Inc.

But I didn't receive any email from Humble, nor can I find anywhere on their website that the payment went through and that I'm subscribed.

Is this normal?

Didn't get Grimrock 2 yet either.

I payed with a credit card. But I got email confirmation from Humble, and a link to my Grimrock key, almost immediately just like a normal Humble purchase. I think something may have gone wrong for you.

Thanks for the info. I've bought from them a bunch of times with no issues so I'm guessing their server is screwed up somehow. I'm wondering if this is somehow related to them being concerned that Paypal users could theoretically dispute payments after seeing the games in the bundle.

I just payed with Paypal also and received no email from Humble Bundle. You can see your subscription status here https://www.humblebundle.com/user/settings. Mine says I am not subscribed.

I think the Humble site is having trouble checking that the Paypal transaction completed. My guess is that it is just slow because many people are subscribing before the bundle starts. I am sure Humble will get the keys to us as long we can show that we paid before the bundle is released.

Strangely the Stripe/Debit card payment I sent afterwards did just go through, I got an email in my promotions folder a minute ago, however on Humble it still says I'm not subscribed, though I did check and $12 was removed from my bank account.

The paypal payments still have nothing going on it seems.
