Since many people talk about bundles and such, I'd want to know which was the first bundle that came out, probably it was quickly forgotten by many as the concept of bundling games wasn't very well used, but... who knows? I'd love to know!

Maybe you can also tell me:

 The best
 The worst
 The most controversial
 The strangest
 The most expensive
 The cheapest (Not free)

And so on!

Thanks for reading!

Oh, wow! Curious that a single key would activate every single game, instead of individual.

Thats how it was setup then. Sometimes now thats how its setup too, though not as often. The current humble bundle has 1 key per tier, which is annoying if you own half the games.

That's how it used to be in the old days and changed between Humble Indie Bundle 6 and 7 if I'm not mistaken.

That's a foolish question! Bundles have always been here. God created them on the 7th day, and they will continue to exist till the end of time itself.

1st - I believe was 1st Humble Indie Bundle in may 2010.

Best - depends on what ones like. I believe biggest hype was for Humble THQ bundle as it was the 1st bundle featuring not indies but AAA games.

Worst - Ammo Box Bundle - they kept changing price and revoking keys because people were buying cheaper tier and they didn't earn as much as they hoped for.

Most controversial - Same. Or one of eroge/hentai game bundles on IG or groupees

Strangest - don't see difference between strange and controversial, so same as above.

Most Expensive -I think groupees hentai bundles - 20$ for non-steam games.

Cheapest - don't remember name now, but there was bundle with Alien Shooter games 2-3 years ago costing 1 cent minimum :>

Indie Gala Stress Test, maybe?

GamersGate had one cent bundle too. (Indie Fort Spring 2014 or something like that)

What THQ bundle had? Maybe you still remember!

By strangest, I mean like, it had an unusual way of payment, like bitcoins, instead of money.

And... Yeah... That Hentai bundle is still on Indie Gala... Ugh...

IG hentai is at least cheaper than groupees one ;p 20$ for 6 non-steam games ;p

THQ bundle had: Darksiders, Metro 2033, Red Faction: Armageddon, Company of Heroes, Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts, Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor, Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War, Saints Row: The Third, Titan Quest. Arguable there have been better AAA bundles later on from Humble (it all depends on what games you prefer really) but none bundle had such a hype ever at least on SG. Simply because it was the first time we got a bundle full of AAA (even if older, but still AAA) titles and not indies.

The first humble bundles were also the cheapest. You got Steam keys even for 1c, and the bonus games were added for everyone, even those who got only the base tier.

bonuses for tier 1 early buyers were present in Humble for quite a long time (you had to buy tier 1 before nonuses got added, so in 1st week thou) - first bundle where you had to BTA to unlock bonus games was Indie Bundle 9 in Sept 2013

That was HIB4, first time I heard about it too. Gave a coal to some guy for a key. That was also the reason 1$ minimum for Steam keys was introduced.

Depends on how you classify a bundle. I had the Live Aid Christmas tape for the ZX 48K Spectrum back in the '80s, which had quite a number of different games on it (by several different programmers), so technically you could say the first ones were decades ago...

If you really want to get technical the first "game bundle" was sold in stores many decades ago and came with a bunch of different games, chess checkers, backgammon and a few others. But pretty sure you mean computer game bundle :)

One of the first electronic games I remember was for the NES back in the 80s, it was called the 31 in 1 and had 31 games on it. Not very good games though.

There are actually a lot of cartridges for NES that are like that: 100 in 1, 200 in 1.

Most of them are all pirated with copies of original games (Contra, Mario Bros, etc)

In my country, I could see MANY of those around!

The most controversial

Possibly the Indie Gala Mass effect bundle, which used some of its proceeds to fund a political campaign (in Canada, I think), which might not have been entirely legal.

"First bundle." Most of you guys weren't even alive for the first bundle!

(Actually, that manual is for the later, re-release of the bundle. The original bundle came on tape cassettes.)
