I keep wondering how they come with their price tags. Sometimes there is an overpriced bland-looking simple figurine and then there is a figurine with crap ton of details which is either the same price or cheaper even.

The figurine in your post wears kimono though. I've heard they are handmade from some renown traditional clothing atelier. Probably that's why it's $1200 lol.
