A question about games region locked on Steam

Hi,

So i am still new on this thing of buying games online and i really want to play Darksouls as i heard it is a very good game, the problem is the game is region locked on Steam where i live.

If i buy the game on another site like GrennMan Gaming, will i be able to activate the game on Steam or it wont allow me leaving me with a game i wont be able to play?

I think it is region locked by GFWL which is a piece of crap, is there another way of getting it legally?

If your region isn't supported by Games for Windows Live, I can only suggest a PS3 version.

All Dark Souls for PC copies have GFWL DRM, I think, due to the multiplayer aspect of it. Of course there are several illegal ways around it, but you won't be able to access the multiplayer portion of the game (which some deem absolutely crucial).

i heard the multiplayer wasn't much, just showing ghost of players dying.

You can summon them to help you, or have people raid your game to PK.

I didn't know that GFWL region-locked stuff.
Anywho there's a workaround for the GFWL DRM, it comes with the 60FPS and 1080p fix.

As for the GMG key thing I'm not sure, but you can always get a friend to buy you a giftable copy on the steam store and trade to you.

Why can't you just use a VPN, I use WITOPIA for my VPN provider because they allow me to connect to so many places for cheap and their network is pretty fast.

Wouldn't this allow you to play then by tricking the game into thinking you live in that area.
