Wait, it's all potato?
Oh no! Not a member of the Inofficial SG VN Lovers Club leaving :(
I hope you can leave without regrets and I wish you luck on your project! I'm working on a long term project as well, a mobile app, and man is it tedious and hard work. The main thing that keeps me going is because I have future users who want my app and they ask me about my progress regularly, so make sure you involve other people in the process! You should also make sure that you in some way put aside some time to do "relaxing" things like meanless scrolling on the Internet or whatever you do, and try not to spend all your energy on "working" things. It would suck if you were to burn out early - we're humans, not robots. But that meaningless time doesn't need to be on SG, if you feel this website interferes with your goals.

I believe I've talked about climbing before - it is an app for indoor climbing gyms, where you can track climbing routes in different gyms, mark the ones you've completed and see statistics, see tips on different routes from other users and follow fellow climber friends.
Worth to note that there absolutely exist mobile app solutions for this already, but the app I'm working on is more aimed at the climbing community rather than offering a solution for the climbing gyms themselves. Most of the apps available are tools that the gyms have to pay for a subscription of, which is not relevant for my tiny local gym. I talk to the staff at my gym often and I'm working on features that they think would be nice to have that they feel aren't available in the current apps already. So probably it will be a small app that some climbers in my local area would have use for.
It's actually about 90% done, which essentially means that I have a working app but the app is bad and doesn't feel very good to use. It needs a lot of polishing before I can test and release it.

We have talked about climbing indeed! I still haven't started but I bought tickets for that indoor club so now I'll have to go.
Sounds like a really great idea for an app! And the fact it's geared toward climbers rather than gyms, but that you're also taking input from the staff at your gym is really cool.
I'm sure it's not as bad as you say :P and QoL updates happen overtime so don't try to make it perfect before you get users on board.

I've taken, uh, a couple months break on working on it (my laptop broke and was in repairs for a month) but when I finish my courses for the semester I'm excited to go back in and see if I can finish.
I hit a roadblock in that I have a Windows computer and an iPhone, so due to Apple shenanigans I can't test the app on my phone right now. But I've been approved for a stipend through my university so that I can buy a Macbook, so even if the user experience isn't on top I will soon be able to test my app for myself at least!

And I'm proud being a member of such group. <3
I can see how apps can be more tedious since they can require more QA than a game. But I sense it's a passion project, so at least you get to have some fun doing it I believe. It's not a real-life work if you have passion in it in the end.
While I understand the necessity of involving in a community for making games, just for this once I don't want to get influenced and want to make a game I would play. Hopefully I don't have some weird tastes people would dislike. :P
You should also make sure that you in some way put aside some time to do "relaxing"
I'll keep this in mind. I really wouldn't want to feel even a tiny bit burn-out in a passion project. Balance is important.
Thank you dear pancake. <3

You will be missed. I hope you find your way back and added you to Steam just in case, to keep in touch.
Life ebbs and flows and we don't always own our time so you make the right choice stepping away to use your time more to yourself.
Game-making is a great reason to need more time and I might have to finally create a BLAEO account after all if you're going to share there.
I won't say farewell because that's too definitive so I'll say see you around and wish you luck on your endeavours.

It's mutual. I'll miss you too, for a while at least.
Heh, we'd love to see you on BLAEO. It can be relaxing to read people's backlog struggles. :)
I'll probably won't share anything soon, until it's mature enough but I'd love to hear your thoughts when it's time.
Thank you, and see you around Fluff. <3

It's one of those things that has been on my to-do list forever but I never committed to.
I've been encouraged to join Play or Pay and I'd need an account for that anyway so I think I'll see you around in 2025 ;)
In the meantime take care and be good to yourself.

Sad to hear you are leaving but pleased that there is a good reason for it. Hope to see you back on SG at some stage in the future if time permits. Wishing you the best of luck with your future plans and i hope it works out great! 🍀

Sad to see you go, we been losing way too many good people lately... It was always an extremely pleasant time to interact with you!
I wish you the best of luck on the game making adventure and I shall be hoping for some updates on BLAEO against the odds then.
Playing Appreciated
You can stay in it, I absolutely do not mind since I know that you will be suspended by your own free will :)
Play a game you won on SG
You are going to have to double check with Samwise since I don't run it anymore, but I would assume you can probably stay as well (till you get kicked for inactivity) and still participate even, but I guess would be counter productive if you wanna concentrate on making games instead.
But yea, good luck, I hope someday soon you are back to show us what you made! :D

Likewise Mouse, I always liked talking with you too!
My initial plan was like that but after getting the suspension advice, I decided to go that way instead of deletion. So at least most of them probably won't kick me in this terms. And thank you for that too, hehe. :)
Though I'm ok with PAGYWOSG since they always accept returning people even if they're kicked before. But yeah, it would be counter productive indeed.
Thank you <3
I hope I'll return with good news and would love to see you playing it. :)

I am always up to try any and every game and playing one from someone you know it is always extra cool so looking forward to trying it out in the future! At least I know for sure it will have good Linux support :D

Not knowing English well doesn't allow me to participate in threads (often). I've read quite a few of them, so I know you were a good member who helped the community. I don't think we've talked before, but thank you for everything you've done here, and good luck on your new journey! :)

You seem to know enough. ;) In the end it's not the first language for most of us here.
Yeah, we probably haven't talked before but you're a SG regular to me.
Eh, I just try my best if it's something I know, didn't need to make me blush. :3
Thank you for your thoughts and wishes! :)

Well, everyone takes it differently I suppose. It's kind of routine for me to visit here everyday. So I cannot just forget about it, I need something to prevent me. The door is not locked if you have the key. :)
getting suspended is something you can never reverse afaik
Apparently suspension on user's will is a thing, which I didn't know about it either.

Always sad to see someone leave the forums, especially a long-time member. But in the end you have to do what makes you happy. Hopefully you will allow yourself to come back some day in the future.
Wishing you success in your "game making" endeavours. Farewell, Mitsukuni. 👋

After more than a decade here, this is my farewell. Meaning, I'll
delete my accountget permanently suspended (at the end of this year since I wanted to join one last Christmas event). It's open-ended and hopefully not forever. However, even though I don't enter a lot of giveaways for quite some time, I like to hang around in the forums, that is, make me spend a lot time here apparently. I need that time, too. I know myself very well and I needed to burn bridges to focus in the past. This is one of those times. The reason is, I'm entering a more serious period for my "game making" sessions. Honestly, I would loved to write updates about it on SG. There is a slight chance I might do that on BLAEO though. Speaking of which, I will need to leave these groups as well, since they require having a SG account: Playing Appreciated, Play a game you won on SG, Playing Matters, Giveaways for Proton reports, TalePlay, Unlicky-7 and SG Monthly Magazine. It's been lovely being part of you and I want to give you my sincere thanks. Thanks.
I'm glad that I got to know many awesome people here. Some left years ago (I know because my whitelist is a ghost town), some of them are new. Some of them are not with us anymore. It's a cycle. Well, more like a Fibonacci spiral, because it's never the same. That's what makes it beautiful.
Anyway, if you want to stay in touch you can add me on Steam, and I'll accept if I know you from the forums.
I initially planned to write more but I guess keeping it simple will be better.
Farewell beautiful people! Farewell until we meet again!
Wish me luck! <3

Something for my blue hearts as well.
