In my humble opinion every company that use or make DRM is just dumb as hell. How many years it will take to see that DRM is just waste of time and money, and pisses off legit customers?
Every stupid EA-like company should take an example of CDProjekt (GOG and CDProjekt RED) and just remove those problematic, useless DRM's. DRM won't help if their games are pure crap and costs 70 bucks each. Just dumb as hell facepalm.

In theory, I think DRM is fine. Companies protect their property and people can't pirate it. Unfortunately, the reality is that all protection gets cracked eventually, the DRM frequently adds issues for legitimate customers, and piracy makes an easy scapegoat for publishers. There's really no easy and realistic solution.

should we start worrying about companies screwing us over
It was always happening in the past, and it will continue happening. I don't buy games with aggressive DRM. Ever. (Except when I didn't know that such DRM was used.) I pirate those games, since that's as ironic as you get get. You put aggressive DRM on a game in order for people not to pirate it? Well, I'm gonna pirate it then. The joke's on you.should we rejoice that pirates won't be able to get stuff that we paid for?
Why would I care about that? I can't even remotely understand the mindset behind that.
As for the "uncrackable" new DRM, warez groups these days only have to deal with the same DRM over and over again. It has been cracked once, so all new games that come out don't require any real work, but rather the use of pre-made tools that assist in removing or emulating DRM. The days where warez groups required actual crackers to apply their skills on every new game seem over. Now, if a new strong DRM comes along, most warez groups are revealed to be just a bunch of guys who don't actually know how to reverse engineer DRM and the only thing they know how to do is use tools that someone else wrote to remove the same DRM over and over again.
So for this new DRM to be circumvented, real hackers are needed again.

At least DRM companies get paid for other companies' silly worries.
Game companies really invest in the most ridiculous things when making games, instead of investing in the gameplay, graphics, story, sound and etc that gamers actually experience... no, they chose to invest in the newest DRM and then they wonder why their game isn't selling.

why do you think those games aren't selling? there are like 10 guys on the internet who say they won't buy a game because of DRM. and only 2 of them really mean it. xD
the big AAA titles with DRM all sell pretty well, actually. else they wouldn't make them. the majority of customers doesn't really care, they just want to play their favorite game. also the majority doesn't have any real problems with DRM, the games run just fine (the big exception might be launch issues, but even those usually go away pretty quickly).

The best DRM for games is and always will be huge backlog.
Why I should pirate game now and use 10 different cracks cos after patch it will be worthless or i can't save and beta test game which have 10 day one patches and DLCs if i have eg 100 games i didn't installed yet?
ps. that's based on experience;e.g I bought far cry 3 half year ago and didn't even run once it yet (and i loved previous ones)

Football manager 2013 and a bunch of other FIFA games were never cracked properly from what I remember.
As for GTA V, I'm definitely not pre-ordering that shit after IV, and if I can test the people's version of the game, I'll do it regardless of what the reviews say about the optimization. I want to be sure I'm paying $60 for a game that's going to work properly on my PC.
And finally, I won't get any pleasure knowing a poor person can't play a video game because the developers made it uncrackable. I would take pleasure if it destroyed computers of people who pirated a game to play it on their sli setups and 4k displays with their 8 core i7's and whatnot.

FIFA 15 has yet to be cracked and I have to say this is incredibly impressive. Not that I'm a big fan of DRM, especially terrible ones like GFWL, but to have a game that is uncrackable for over 1 and a half month is just downright impressive.
I believe it will be cracked one day, but this DRM seems to be much more effective than whatever Steam has to offer.
Not that it concerns me since I've long stopped pirating thanks to Steam. So praise GabeN for cheap games and may it last an eternity!
Anyways back to my point, should we start worrying about companies screwing us over or should we rejoice that pirates won't be able to get stuff that we paid for?
P.S GTA V was rumored to use Denuvo DRM, this has since been proven false. As long as it runs decently(aka better than GTA IV) and doesn't use GFWL, GTA V should be a purchase for me.
