Question about buying a bundle.

Hello dear community.. A friend just answered me a question and i'm not sure if i can answer him properly.

He owes someone else a Portal copy and he also wants Portal 2 for himself.
If he buys the bundle for gift (and not send it so it goes to inventory).. At the inventory you get the full bundle as one piece or both game separated?

A bundle is a bundle. You can't separate it manually. It will be either added as a whole (Portal 1 + 2) or a complete gift pack.

Unless it is stated on the store page that you will get a tradable copy in your inventory if you own one or more of the games, the one you already own will be lost once you activate the pack.

If he buys them as a gift and puts them into his own inventory he can gift the one copy and use the other.

not true. He will have the tradable "portal bundle" in his inventory, he wont have 2 separated games and he cant separate them.
