Using wired upstairs is a bit messy, so 'm fine with wireless even if it sucks at times.

Hehe, it's all fine for me as long as no one trips on the cable, if that happens, I have to take the cable off or get people pissed at me! xD

In the dark it's easy to forget there's some wire on the ground, though I never tripped over it before. :P

Actually, I have a wireless internet connection, I have the router in my room, but my pc is wired to it.
When it rains, connections lags and drops, and I start swearing. Unfortunately in my town there is no wired adsl, so I need to stick with this thing...

Is the Router in the same room? I have to go from my bedroom to the living room! :)

It is, but the fiber and the phone line cables pretty much go to the other end of the house. So I made some holes, took advantage of the electric instalation tubes and clamped all the loose cables to the walls.

This one looks very interesting! If you have one, how much did you have to pay?

I know I could be much tidier and stuff, but that might require drilling around my house to reach the Router, haha.

I use one myself and I can vouch for their reliability. Had a quick look through Amazon and it seems like the starting set is about ~100$ max. Can't remember how much I paid since I got mine a few years ago :3.

Huh, that's quite a nice investment! But I might require a bit more, if they aren't sold in my country.

(International shipping costs too, maybe?)

Thank you for the info, pal! Probably they should be cheaper if you purchased it years ago! :)

I've also used powerline in the past. It's good but will depend on how far your signals travel and whether or not it needs to cross circuits at the junction. I was able to get reliable 45 Mbps between my two outlets at my old place. But when I moved to the new place I kept getting burst interference that would drop my Internet connection for 1-2 minutes despite my bandwidth going up. (Old apartment building) So I became an infidel and switched to wireless, but did it with a router in the office connected to a dedicated media bridge in the living room that everything is wired to. I get my full internet connection speed in both places and no interference, so no complaints from me!
