Lolz...I had it as "You are welcome" but somewhere along the line, I messed up...=.=

Gabe is not his brother but his friend though. I somewhat expected him to be in Poker 2, like they did for Sam then Max.

EDIT: Nevermind. Lack of source, but I remember reading an article (Encyclopedia Dramatica?) back in the day that one of the Penny Arcade guys was an internet perv or something. Dick pics to online lady friends who may have been under age, that sort of thing. Wondered why it wasn't made a bigger deal all this time but can't even find info on it anymore so it was either bullshit or.... So true and damning that it was wiped off the internet. :O

Yeah my original comment was "The internet pedo one?" but I realize that was incredibly uncalled for considering I had one source in mind that didn't even exist anymore. So I didn't want to leave that up as if I was stating some fact and attacking his character in a way that if somebody called me out I'd have nothing to back it up with.
Crazy the shit internet haters will get you to buy into.

just bought it and played the first one. I think yes, even if I would have bought the first one for the 5€ only I wouldnt say money wasted. If you don't like poker or if you just want to play poker I would avoid it though, the strength of the game is not pure poker, but a nice table you play at ;).

I'm so tempted by it just for the BL2 Assassin Portal Skin. That skin is BADASS!!!

The game really is good if you enjoy any of the game's characters and the bonus of in game items is always cool.

Yeah, I'm debating. The problem is, all I really know are Claptrap and GlaDOS.

I never got into Adult Swim. My friend told me he's voiced by Patrick Warburton though, who is effing hilarious, so if he did the voice acting in PN2, then that may be a sell right there!

The first game dropped to like 50%, only. Making each game about the same price that you would expect to pay later on if they were on sale. If you can get both now, it is a decent deal. I picked up a couple of copies.
In terms of fun and how funny it is, well... The poker is pretty weak, but the humor is decent. I love listening to the Heavy tell stories related to TF2. I recommend the first one because there aren't a lot of card games for Steam, so take what you can get and enjoy the other stuff.
You get TF2 stuff for both games and Borderlands 2 stuff for the second one, so some added bonuses, I guess.
The games are meant more for the humor and just some decent fun. They aren't poker simulators or anything like that.
It is cheap enough, right now, that I would get the preorder and get both games, if you are interested.

I see that, now, although I was talking about retail stores, in general. I grabbed mine off Amazon with a 50% off sale and I remember thinking it probably won't be cheaper, based on price histories. Hard to factor in those random sales that official sites, run, though I love them. You don't see them often, but they are pounce worthy.
I wouldn't doubt the 75% off thing. Obviously new ones push down the prices of old ones, but I find it kind of strange that they didn't do it right when they launched the preorders or even before. Even with it included, most companies would have dropped the price down, by now. Just to get some free advertising in for the new product.

I assumed since it had been 50% so many times, it'd have to reach 75% soon, but now I won't have to wait!
I imagine since the first one is a pre-purchase bonus, they wouldn't dare discount it as it could potentially hurt the sales of their new one.

I would have guessed at it being 75% sometime in the past few weeks or something. Just to get people hyped up about it. A lot of companies do that, even when they offer the games as bonuses. It looks like they aren't going to rush to dropping it, anytime soon. Still, $5 for both is reasonable. I guess it doesn't matter.
They might be a bit scared off from going really low with some of their games, due to licensing. They work directly with the rights from a lot of other companies. They might have to pay out a bit for each sale. I've noticed strange pricing for some of their other products, over time. They are a bit slower to drop base prices and go down to 75% off, despite many of their games being average, compared to most games that keep their prices high.
Other than big companies allowing the price to go way down to win customers and by paying for mass amounts of keys, I don't see many sales from them that I actually want to pay for. I usually don't have a problem buying games, especially at 75% off. I think many of their games end up a bit overvalued. They feel a little off. Kind of the same feeling I get when I'm looking at a 66% off sale and thinking, that should be 75%. If I am going to get more of their stuff, it will be packs and collections. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for 75% off the Telltale Collection.

I played the first one. I enjoyed it, and think it's worth $5. The AI seems to get way too lucky at times, but the devs claim that the AI has no advantage though. The fun is in the conversations and reactions between the characters. It does get repetitive after a while, but I think I got more than $5 of enjoyment out of it.

The humor is supposed to be the selling point. You are playing quick rounds of poker with familiar characters, that are carrying on conversations and responding to things done. It wears out, but it is fun for a while. If you like the characters or want the TF2 items, the games are worth it. Might not be worth buying for everyone. Then again, not everyone has access to decent odds giveaways of them, cough, MDuh's, cough. Worth it for free. Steam needs more card games, no doubt.

You realize that online poker is a 7 billion dollar a year industry, right? People play against others online for real money without tells, but fake money and possible TF2 items on the line are surely too high stakes for being unable to see tells.

Yeah, online poker is actually pretty big, I'm surprised you're not aware of that given the massive advertising campaigns that are constantly running, look up Pokerstars/Party Poker/PKR.
I still can't think of any valid reason not to include multiplayer in a card game.

The game doesn't have to suck, the devs could include a multiplayer mode to play with friends on top of the single player, it doesn't have to be one or the other. I'm definitely not planning to buy this one but I'll give it a shot if I win a giveaway :D

But that really isn't the point of this game (I even would consider it pretty sucky if it didn't have those interesting characters or those funny conversations).
A MP would be useless since there are many other online poker game which are WAY better than this one :/
Ah well ^^

"Is this game worth $4.99"
YOU MUST BUY IT, THIS IS NOT DEBATE-ABLE.
YOU WILL EARN 999 LAUGHS AND A NTH SENSE OF HUMOR AFTER PLAYING

I'm going to get it eventually, but first I need to sell a couple things on the market
Edit: traded for a copy, I'll probably unpack it sometime after the giveaways I've entered end

Poker Night 2
Right now you can pick up Poker Nights 2 & a giftable copy of Poker Nights 1 for $4.99 on steam.
Is this game worth $4.99? I like to play poker games on my phone from time to time and I enjoy playing the real thing as well (Real=better because it=real money which is an actual risk). Just looking for some input on this game. I am slightly interested at the moment but don't want to drop $5 if it isn't going to be as fun as I hope.
Let me know what you guys think.
