There's lot on my wishlist that I never, or very often, see. Talking about AAA, I'd say Borderlands 3!

Although The Pre-Sequel comes first in the Borderlands timeline I'd still suggest playing them in order they were released and play BL2 first and then The Pre-Sequel.
The reason behind this is Handsome Jack is considered by many people one of the best videogame villians of all times and playing his origin story first might take away from that.

I'd like to see The Outer Worlds more ofter, the whole fallout in space vibe seems very interesting. I'm planning to buy the game at some point i just don't have enough time at the moment and i have a huge backlog of games i'd like to play.

Yes, actually it's quite a bit different. It's more survival oriented, it was hard to keep supplies up and people happy and there was an offline simulation that ran when you logged out.....if morale was low and there wasn't enough food, you could potentially load up the game to find that someone had left. If you log out with someone missing, you might load up next time to find them dead. It was a lot grittier and had a more apocalyptic feel, SoD2 is more actiony in comparison.
OG SoD had destructible environment objects. You know those propane tanks, including the big ones? Yeah....you could blow those up. They were great to take out Juggs with. You could hide in bushes to avoid zombies, but that was removed in SoD2 because it caused synch issues in multiplayer during testing. SoD2 doesn't have the flame fougasse.....it was basically a landmine version of a fuel bomb. You could use fuel resource to set traps around outposts to destroy hordes that wandered too close.

That must have made a lot of people unhappy. That's why they changed it. 🤔

From what you tell me, SoD1 seems more interesting than its predecessor. Although I've enjoyed SoD2 a lot, I can't seem to stay and play over and over. Thanks for telling me! 🙂

Yeah, a lot of people hated the simulation, it's the one thing I don't miss. And it is more interesting in many ways, like the besieged missions where you help defend an enclave? You could board up the windows to make it less overwhelming, it worked like repairing barricades in daybreak only you didn't need consumable items to do it and it wasn't instant. Lifeline was really good, I wish there was something similar in SoD2.
Only one map though and no multiplayer. But for what it is, which is an XBLA title, it's great.

Toki Tori +2 may be something I wouldn't right away play, but I don't know, it may just be me. But surely there's need for more.

Definitely depends on the individual. Puzzle metroidvanias aren't to everyone's liking.

I've replied to one of your comments, but additionally, I would say "A hat in time", as it is a highly sought after game, a truly FUN (in its purest meaning), adorable experience. As of now I bought and played it so I speak from experience.
It appears from time to time on SG, mostly as the main attraction, held in high regard as it should be. But its appearances are ultrarare. I mean, you see it around christmas a few times, maybe during the year once or twice, but thats about it till next christmas, wher eits almost guaranteed to be included at least once.

It has been mentioned a couple of times already, so this gives me hopes to check A Hat in Time. I've placed it in my wishlist to keep an eye for it and better yet, consider contributing some future SG's that will help the community. Thank you for your feedback! 🥰

i'd like more of anything as if their are people to win them - then it's still good to give away

Age of Empires II was and will be one of the best RTS games I've ever played. You're right, it hasn't been much featured here. I guess a lot of people give the giveaways to just get rid of random games they already own or don't like.

That's try right. Most GAs are for bundled games, or games being given away on some site. And I don't blame people for this. I am one of those too, getting rid of extra keys. However, I plan on giving away unbundled games soon, hopefully, if everything works out.
Comment has been collapsed.
Nobody is obligated that's for sure. I think that whoever gives giveaways anyway, cheap, bundled or not are amazing people of the gaming society because it's their money and it says a lot about themselves when they are giving stuff to strangers that may never get to meet or talk to in the future.

I just noticed that I wrote something funny. I was half asleep while replying earlier.
Anyway, I agree with you. Bundled or not, giving away any kind of game is an act of kindness, and no one is obligated to do so. Even in case of dupe/unwanted keys, one could rather sell them, or just ignore them instead of going through the trouble of creating a GA, optionally verifying the winner and then sending the key.

Haha! 😆 No worries! Since I've joined this website about 3 months ago, I can say I've enjoyed my stay. I used to always look for cheap ways to get games so I save money so I can buy more, but never thought there would be a website like this for steam. I do plan to be part more often of the community and involve myself in meaningful giveaways. I really want people to like the games I give and not just shove them in their libraries and never play them again.
I personally think that if you get to spend at least 15 hours in a game it's still better than nothing. 😄

Oh, didn't notice you are new. Welcome to SG! Hope you like it here and get what you are looking for.
15 hours is usually enough for most games, specially indie titles. For me, as long as the winner plays the game at some point in time, I am fine. If they don't like it and put it down after 10 mins, that's acceptable as well (it has happened with me with games I won here).

At first, I've applied for every cheap game that was available on it. After I got the ESGST program I've sorted and applied for giveaways that were between 10-50 points as I found them more interesting for me to check and want to play.
Quality over quantity really. I don't play many indie games and my records really show that.

Yes, it's better to enter GAs that you are actually interested in. I don't really care about +1's or having a huge library and hence only enter for games I am interested in.
I am more into indie than AAA, even more now than before. I feel that the AAA games have started to become stale. There are many new AAA titles that excite me these days.

Since I've had the need to upgrade my PC I missed a lot of AAA games from 2010 and until now that I really wanted to play. Series that I've been only following over YT or didn't pay much attention but kept them in my Steam Wishlist. I started playing them slowly as I got rid of my addiction to playing competitive games.
Indie games offer complex gameplay, but sometimes I feel I don't connect the same as I do with a good voice acted game that I personally don't enjoy as much from Indie companies because they are either inexistent or they are poorly made. I often play nowadays games for their story, and I absorb much better games that have voice acting in them.
Secondly, and I know AAA games do end up being rushed and feel like they are not dedicated enough time, but a lot of Indie games that are having lots of potential are in Early Access and a lot of work is required. So, by the time it gets fixed up, I lost my interest in it. This is obviously my opinion. I love Indie games, but I don't stick much with them as much as I would with others.

New Frontier Pass probably doesn't get much due to its price, but I get what you mean. 😊

Good picks! 😉
But as a passionate Texas Hold Em and occasional Blackjack player I have to say comparing Fifa Ultimate Team to casinos is kind of an insult to casinos 😄 To me it's more akin to fraud or maybe armed robbery.

There's also a difference. Game developers who do create games that a large majority of the male audience likes go with this idea because they can capitalize over it. I think we need more games of similar times like Fifa and other Sports games so the prices would finally start to drop.
Because there are so rare and far in between, the companies who make them don't bother to improve on the series, and they just improve graphics by rendering at a higher resolution as computers or consoles start to become more advanced and affordable to purchase. It's a good business model and it just works. Look at Rocket Ligue, it combines what men like - Football/Soccer and Cars.
In the end, we need all game genres so people have to pick whatever they like.

I wasn't talking about whether or not the improvements in the annual FIFA installments justify a 60€ price tag. I'm talking about FIFA Ultimate Team and it's booster pack system to unlock players and the fact your unlocks don't carry over into the next installment. I'm pretty sure Lionel Messi from 2019 is the same person as Lionel Messi (2021).

Far Cry New Dawn would be nice. Well I bought it already, but still it's been given just 14 times.
Or any other Far Cry actually

Oh, you played the first 2 recently? Didn't they age too badly? I recently played 3/4/5, but I haven't touched 1/2 for a loong time, and as far as I remember their age already showed quite a bit.

The 2nd one is decent and still stands up to the times we are today. The 1st one is and feels like a really old game, but it was nice to see how it all started. To compensate, I started Just Cause 1 & 2 alternatively to see how they are. If there were no achievements involved, I would just go through the main campaign. I wish I was more involved in Just Cause's 2 world, but I didn't manage as of yet to finish it. It's in the process, but I need some time break from it. 😅

Disco Elysium
Lisa: The Painful RPG, but this one may show up all the time and I never see it because I own it. It could still show up more ^^
People keep saying A Hat in Time. Gonna add to that: the Seal the Deal DLC specifically. It adds challenges to some of the maps and, while they can be frustrating, they're also oddly fun, and Hat Kid dancing is the best. Worth selecting Peace & Tranquility mode just to see her do so.
Will second Hollow Knight and Celeste, great games, own them on the switch.
428: Shibuya Scramble
Return of the Obra Dinn
Fairune Collection - Cute little puzzle games.
La-Mulana 1 and 2
And really, anything by supergiantgames: Bastion, Transistor, Pyre, Hades. But I have no idea how often they're given away here, since (other than Bastion) I picked them up as soon as I could

Disco Elysium is a very good game as I've heard. I'm going to play it at some point.
LISA: The Painful I've personally don't know if I've seen either. A Hat in Time is definitely highly requested so that should be more often. I will pay attention and consider including the game more often in GAs.
I know that Hollow Knight& Celesteis worth every penny.
The rest mentioned I am not aware of seeing either.
I own Bastion, but haven't played as of yet. I did play Hades and I honestly enjoyed it, but it wasn't an easy game, and didn't manage to finish it yet. Transistor I've got on my wishlist, so I haven't seen it either, so goes for Pyre. I personally don't play many indie games, but this company particularly I like too. 🥰

Supergiant's amazing ^^ All their games are different so far, but gameplay's pretty solid, story's are great, and the music is always fantastic. Obra Dinn's... a puzzle type game I've heard good things about. Fairune has a nice little combat system (you run into enemies and deal/take damage depending on their/your level) and the puzzles are very much based on observation of your environment as opposed to random guessing. La-Mulana: old school puzzle platformer that got a remake and a sequel. And Shibuya Scramble's a VN that was reccommended to me. Looks quirky enough to be fun.
Bastion: I'd be surprised if you haven't heard about how amazing the narration in that game is. Gameplay's not the best, especially compared to Hades, but it's definitely not bad. just 10-15 years old by now.

What game(s) you hardly see being given away on Steamgifts and would like to see them more often?
