780? That seems overkill considering how it looks.

Recommended system settings usually are overblown. Better for them to put higher than necessary and not having to deal with people bitching about whatever they're gonna bitch about. This is better way than Ubisoft telling people their machines are shit.

so i couldnt get those silly graphics card recomended requirements out of my head, so i googled Skyrim's requirements:

Minimum PC Specs:
Operating System: Win XP/7/Vista (32 or 64 bit)
CPU: Dual Core 2GHz
Memory: 2GB RAM
Video Card: DirectX9c video card w/ 512MB RAM

Recommended PC Specs:
Operating System: Win XP/7
CPU: Quad-Core Intel/AMD CPU
Memory: 4GB RAM, 6GB Hard Drive Space
Sound: DirectX compatible sound card
Video Card: DirectX9 video card with 1GB memory. GTX 260/Radeon 4890 or higher

At the time of Skyrim's launch i was using an AMD 4670 512MB with an AMD Phenom II X4 945 and 3 GB of RAM, and i maxed Skyrim, all the settings as high as they can go, except AA, and never went below 30,

Im not saying this will be the case for Fallout 4, but i think Bethesda is overshooting their requirements, as many developers do, just to be sure or save up complains.

I did virtually exactly the same... except worse.

ATI 2450 HD w/512mb, 2.8Ghz Dual Core, 2GB RAM.
Still Ultra'd even with mods.

Nowdays, sitting with a;
AMD-4350 Quad Core @ 4.2 Ghz
8GM Ram, Win7
Sapphire AMD Radeon R7 200, 2GB DDR3.

Not had much opportunity to "push" it to see what it can do, except for a free weekend with ARK.
System Requirements Lab sucks balls these days though, reckons I can't even launch a lot of stuff, yet have been able to do so with high/ultra. It reckoned old comp couldn't even run Skyrim's minimum settings.

Atypical proof of concept though that developers over-inflate system requirements, notably graphics cards. And is it so unusual to see an advert at the start for something like Nvidia? Seems more like some form of loose advertisement... they get paid to "buff up" their system requirements so people who don't know better will run and buy new graphics cards to be able to run something they could do perfectly well beforehand.

hmm I need a better CPU for recommended. Also some RAM would be good. I have 8GB right now but I think I should upgrade to 16gb. cause of that 8 only around 4.5gb are free right now.

I'm not planning on getting fallout 4, but I really do need to upgrade my graphics card. I currently have an 8800GT that's 7 years old, and it still works okay for most games but for most AAA games it struggles. I've also found that it's performance has significantly decreased since it overheated about a year ago whilst playing Mirror's Edge....
