S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl, is it worth the 20$?

Well that's my Q, I already have Call of Pripyat, BUT I was thinking I should play the first one as they mention some stuff at the beggining of CoP, so, I want to play SoC first, so, is it really worth the 20$? Or should I wait until the summer sales? :o

The S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series is one of the best of all time IMO, easily the best atmosphere I've ever played through, better than Bioshock or any others that always get high praise. I definitely do think it is worth $20, but the summer sale is right around the corner so if you can wait, I'd just say wait a month or so to get it even cheaper.

Yeah, the pricing for the STALKER series is ridiculous. Used to be $20 for each game in the US, but in Europe they used to charge only 7€ for SoC ($10), 14€ for Clear Sky ($20) and 20€ for Call of Pripyat (~$26). Now I see they lowered the price for Clear Sky to 10€/$.

It's a really good game, but like others have said, you're better off waiting for it to go on sale. You should also check various trading forums -- I've seen it go for as low as $1 before, and you can likely pick it up for only a couple of bucks if you can find someone who still has an extra key.

Can you get it cheaper than that? Yes.
Will it be discounted for Steam's Summer Sale? Highly likely.
