I like my G910 a lot, but that's because it had the features I specifically wanted - namely programmable macro keys for games.
The switches are Logitech-specific and I'd rate the noise as "medium".
The worst thing about it might be the wrist rest, which is built-in to the frame for no good reason (non-removable). I'd rather use a gel wrist pad, but I can deal.
I got a killer deal on it for ~$80, but it'd probably be hard to find a deal like that again.

The per key color customization with configurable cool down periods looks super cool! Noise is likely on par with mine. Dunno how I'd feel about the wrist rest, since it appears to be asymmetrical on the left vs right (at least @ Best Buy's site who sells it new). I get that its to support gamers doing KB+M, but I suspect that the lop sided lengths might annoy me when typing for extended periods of time.
G910 can be found currently refurbished for under $70 and new for $90.

Using the G910 since half of the 2015, still works without issues.
About the software if you have and old version of windows 7, you need to install an windows patch for it to work (but if you are using dual boot forget it), at least for me the backlight with another color only works when i had the software running in background.
At least my version came with 2 wrist rest, but yeah is a piece of plastic that you put over the metallic frame of the keyboard, at least for my experience no issues so far with gaming.
The Volume wheel is amazing and you will never go back to buttons again and it also has a button to block the windows key for long or important game sessions

Is there a list of games that support the Logitech Arx Control aside from this list for another much older keyboard?

Looks like it has what I need for $40 USD except for the wrist rest, but an official branded rest can be purchased separately for $15. I'll consider it, thanks!

Here you go... A Corsair non-mechanical gaming keyboard going for $49.99 on Amazon.
Its got:

Yeah, it definitely is I'd think. If the OP would rather get it cheaper, he can score a refurbished one for $35.

Looks pretty good, thanks, and TIL anti-ghosting is a thing

I've never heard of this brand, but here is another $49.99 keyboard that also has USB ports.

I've never heard of this brand
It is literally Genius ;)
I'm leaning toward Corsair since I'm happy with the quality of their other products I've purchased.

Hahaha... you got me there. :P
Although I don't know if I can ever go back to anything other than a mechanical keyboard, I would certainly love to hear how the Corsair works for you should you decide to spring for it! :)

I have the K40 and hate it. The Spacebar and the Cntl button getting stuck from time to time and for non-mechanical the keyboard is kinda loud.
I've also a Corsair Mouse that is quite good and a good PSU. Had a headset that I didn't like but the keyboard is... just bad.

The worse reviews agree with you, and it seems to be an older keyboard that's harder to find and thus more expensive. So I'll be sure to steer clear of it, thanks

Here you go.... Oh, you said WIRED. I read that as weird. Sorry.

lol no I don't need weird keyboards, good to know for anyone who needs to type with one hand though ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Ok, some of those are just awesome. Going to recommend the beer can one to one of my cousins.

Logitech G610 is cheap and an amazing mechanical keyboard. It doesn't have a wrist rest, tho..

Hey I just noticed this new Hardware discussion category, and I'm currently having one hell of a time trying to find the right kind of hardware I want.
I may be interested in replacing my current Logitech K520 wireless keyboard with a wired one. Searching Newegg and Amazon have been dumpster fires - Newegg won't show me product images because they say "image coming soon" but has the filtering I want, and Amazon doesn't have the filtering I want and throws a bunch of crap at me hoping something will stick.
What I need is relatively simple and not gamer-specific:
One touch volume keys: Mute, up, down.
One touch music navigation keys: Back, pause/play, skip
A moderate (like my current one) or wide wrist rest.
Trying to keep it near or less than $50 USD
What would be nice but isn't required:
Backlit keys - I don't need million color RGB, but I'm not against that either
Not needing to install keyboard-specific software/service that runs all the time (looking at you Razer)
An integrated USB port or two, just in case I could use it later
Other extra functional or programmable buttons
What I don't want:
Something that is blatantly loud during key strokes, like a totally mechanical keyboard
Having to press two keys at once, like "FN", to perform volume and music functions
Requiring USB 3.0 (I only have 2 ports and often use at least 1)
