i realised how many bundled games and games on steamsales i bought - well actually just to have them in my library. it's kinda weird but i already know that i wont play most of the games before buying the bundle except some huge titles like alan wake, sniper elite v2 or the walking dead. well at least some bucks are going to charity xD how many bundles have you bought and how much money have you spent on them?

I used to buy them because they were rare and special, now there are a billion different bundles and there are always a bunch running at any time so I am not so enchanted by them anymore. If they are giving me a really good deal on games that are already on my wishlist and come at a time when I have money I will get them, otherwise I don't overly worry about them anymore.

Many reasons.

It's nice to have a big library of games so no matter what kind of mood I'm in I can usually find something that strikes my fancy. Bundles are great for that (at least if you like indie games, and especially if you like truly indie games and not just the popular ones).

If bundles have a few co-op games I try to grab it just because I like to have co-op games on hand in case a friend wants to play it, I've also found some real gems from doing this (most notable one that comes to mind is Sol Survivor).

I also like to give the extra keys from bundles to friends who have the games on their wishlists, help connect my friends with games they want at no extra cost (kind of...since I buy bundles based on the games I want for myself...mostly).

I only buy bundles for games I want to play, usually only one or two, the rest I give away. I have no interest in hording games.

I had a friend come over and tell me about this cool game he was playing, after a quick check it was part of a bundle I bought, we fired it up on the spot.

I buy them if they have a game I really want to play.

They are a cheap way to get games that I was wanting to play anyhow or the games looked interesting enough to give them a go.

So far I've bought 7 groupees bundles, two humble bundles, three bundle stars bundles, one indie gala, two indie royale, one bundle in a box. That and a good amount of my wishlist is actually previously bundled games. I have a crappy laptop that can't play newer games, so I love indie games as a way for some good cheap fun that my computer can handle.

I buy bundles because they help support indie developers as well as charity. I usually end up trying out most of the games though and it is great to find an indie gem =) also I like to have games that I can easily run on my laptop so I have something to play inbetween classes.

Well, I have a Windows desktop, a Linux laptop, and an Android phone. Humble bundles mean I have games I can play on all 3 at one price.

I used to buy them, now I only buy them if I'm interested in ANY of the games, which is pretty rare not counting humble bundle.

Steam won't let me buy games from it( just gives an error) so its retail, bundles or other sites like gmg gg etc for me, bundles are the cheapest so if they have a game I want I get them.

First of all, I never buy games at their "retail price". Bundles are often cheap, so that's a plus.

However, I never buy bundles just because they are cheap. I still stick to games that I want, although there have been cases of me wanting one game and getting another one "for free" because it was bundled with it. In most cases, however, I go for various forms of "complete" editions -- a game with all DLCs, all 2 or 3 parts of a game, stuff like that. In these cases I usually want all the games anyway.

Should have ased me this question before steam came to their senses and allowed to gift anything you owned from a bundle you were about to buy, couse there were times when once you bought a bundle with a game you already owned it just went to thin air... Bundles in steam nowadays are a no brainer, you only gain from then, you don't loose anything and you save a lot.

They are no different from any other games I buy, except in that they are cheaper. I hardly play any games, but I buy them in the hope that one day I will have the time and then I'll have good selection of games to choose from. It's just a pipe dream.

1) they are cheap
2) there are a lot of them, I activate ones I'm interested in and give away ones I'm not

If it's Humble Bundles we're talking about, I "buy" them to support their causes, while I buy other bundles only if I'm interested in the games/music

Save a lot of money...according to one steam account value calculator my games are worth around $800 but I know I have spent less than $50 (most on bundles, some on games I really like that were 75% off)
