Don't know, don't care, all rep is useless anyway. Even people with hundreds of +rep and a clean record can decide to run a scam one day (I've been the victim of this once before).

I wouldn't say rep is useless. It sure isn't as reliable as a lot of people praise it to be, but it does help traders single out the majority of scammers with negative or no reputation.
Traders who do exit scams are tricky though. I almost fell for one during my first three months on the trade forums.

There are hundreds of thousands users in this community - imagine them all spamming forums with topics like yours... -.-

you say stalkers, but considering amount of scammers on Steam anyone seeing private profile won't care if you're afraid of stalkers or whatever - they will assume you have something to hide so you hide it. I know I would never trade with a private profile at least. If you're afraid of stalkers maybe simply don't post personal stalkable information on your profile?

Just some friendly advice.
There is absolutely no reason for an "honest trader" (or anyone, really) to have a private profile. There are various other options to prevent undesirables from having anything to do with you and your Steam Profile. Profile Comments set to Friends Only, Block List, etc. A private profile assumes you have something to hide.
Also, your questionable responses in this thread are a giant red flag as to your true character. People do not like to trade with, let alone associate with, people who treat others like this. Perhaps consider being a bit less of a jerk and you might have better luck with trades and in life in general.
