What does it mean when a game has a * beside it when creating a giveaway?

when there is a star next to it that means that its in a bundle and the max you can get from a bundle is $30

With bundled games you only get 20% of your non-bundled games amount + $30 added to your contributor value. The * indicates that that game is a bundled game and will count like that.

So if you've given away only bundled games, max you can get with bundled games is $30. If you give away some non-bundled games, your total amount you can get from bundled games increases and you can gain some of the value you didn't gain before later. For example, if you give away a copy of Fortix which is about $1, you'll gain about $1.20 instead because you didn't get everything from Eschalon Book 2 yet.
