What's the most difficult (rage inducing) factor in a boss battle?
Undogeable, multiple phase,1 hit KO, minions, regenerating health. I hate those the most.

Escort missions are even worse, although I'd imagine some people are including them in this answer. Its one (annoying) thing to have to protect something/someone, but quite another to have to protect someone and keep them moving towards a goal. Dead Rising did this worse than any other game. In fact, escorting that chick in RE4 is the reason I quit playing it, even though it seemed like they did it better than most. Simply thinking about having to do an escort mission can sometimes be enough to make me quit.

It's even worse when they're whiny children.
One of Fable: TLC's escort missions involved getting a child out of a cave, and it's an infuriating mess.

really? after just seeing their mechanics I usually faceroll most of them (Normal mode ofc) - I think only one that really gave me huge probllems both on Normal and Heroic was KelThuzad from Naxx ;p because there you not only needed to build a deck around his gimmick but also got extremely lucky several times - both to get right cards and that he doesn't get twisting nether.

AND boss doesn't have such a luck :D: (you can have all the cards in the right order all right draws, best starting hand - and still lose to KelThuzad HC if he draws twisting nether right 1 turn before your combo-lethal ;p - he was the hardest boss for me to beat ;p)

When you don't know what you're supposed to do and make it harder on yourself.
Construction Hulk - Darkisiders II is an example I can think of. Only an early boss but I couldn't figure it out at all. I didn't use those little bombs at all and ended up just shooting it to death with my guns that did next to no damage at all. I managed to turn a 3-minute boss fight into a 40-minute epic struggle and it took me a few attempts.

He was easy as hell. Took him down on my first attempt. The boss from the DLC in the foundry was way harder.

Yeah, I have no doubt I'd have found it easy too if I'd have been able to figure out what I was meant to do. I was embarrassed when I watched a video later and realised.
Again, not a hard boss, but another recent-ish one where I did a similar thing was on DmC: Devil May Cry and Bob Barbas It didn't occur to me that I needed to punch the red things on the ground in about 15 tries. I then decided to look up a video and once I knew that went and beat him first go.
I can be slow sometimes!

Anything in ninja gaiden sigma, dark souls is a cakewalk compared to that game

Muru in SWP patch(WoW) for me. We ended up being 48th in the world I think, the day before the weekly reset. Spent so many hours wiping, tons of money on the attempts.
Been a long time, 8 years or so, but from what I remember the adds were insane. I played a mage so it was pretty easy for me. All I had to do was CC (poly), spell steal, and either attack an add if its up or the boss. Macros and focus targets made it easy for me. Cant comment on other classes but I bet healing was insane.

Regenerating health is the most annoying thing ever during boss battles.
Hardest boss? Really hard to say (pun intended). I don't play on consoles where I've heard the hardest bosses are. Bosses in Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams were pretty hard. Same goes for bosses in Alien Rage. Bosses in Cave Story+ also gave me a headache (especially the ones at the end). Bosses in Mr.Bree+ were also hard (if I recall you get touched once and you're done for). Those are off the top of my head.

The first one that came to mind was in Resistance: Fall of Man. There was a part very late in the game where the game ramps up in difficulty suddenly and has you fight several of these large mechanical beasts. I forget the details, but it was very unforgiving, you could hardly damage them, and they would rape you. I was getting pretty tired of the game by that point anyways, and banging my head against the wall at that part made me just give up. I severely dislike replaying any part of any game, which is also why I disliked Demon's Souls.

Voted "others", and that "others" being other people, in any raid, in any MMO.

Final Fantasy X's (International Edition) Dark Aeons are infuriating, first of all because you have to grind for hundreds of hours just to be able to scratch them, and second and most importantly because they're blocking previously visited areas of the game, preventing you to return to places where you might have forgotten to pick an item. Probably not hardest, but 10/10 on the rage inducing scale.

Also, most annoying this is to protect an npc during the fight, I mean, if they had a non-retard AI you could fight normally but they seem to have a sexual attraction to the boss weapons, they go full retard and then, when you lose, the game show some message telling you that was your fault

Probably most people like boss battles, since they are defining moments of a game. But sometimes due to game design they are absurdly hard, and turn fun into countless retries and rage.
Question is which was the hardest boss fight you ever finished or where you have given up? (Any genre!)
