I'm looking for games with decent archery (free-aiming and preferably a third-person shoulder camera).

Um... yeah I know that sounds weird, especially the camera bit. I don't know what it is, but it's so satisfying seeing your character draw the bow.

Erm, some examples:

Tomb Raider 2013

Elder Scolls V: Skyrim

Thief Series (camera isn't third person shoulder but nontheless it still has archery)

^ The collection will most likely go on sale during the steam summer event. Pick up warband, or the collection, and download the cRPG mod for warband. Infinite hours of fun.

First person, but PREY (it's pretty basic though), and the entire Turok series on N64 (The first game had the most realistic archery out of the series). I know I've played more (even 3rd person) but it's tough to remember right now.

Oh I know, Elder Scrolls: Oblivion in 3rd person mode (along with Morrowind).

I heard there is a game breaking memory glitch for Windows 7 - 64bit users which slows down the framerate till the game crashes. The Steam forum contains a bunch of threads about this, can anyone confirm if it's been fixed?

I'm not sure if its been fixed or under what circumstances the bug appears, but I played through the single player on my Win 7-64bit computer and it ran just fine.

I'm going to second the Mount and Blade series (Warband is the best, and don't forget to check out the mod community) and Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. Great time to pick up the latter today on sale at 2,50.

I'm not so sure since I haven't played any of the games, but maybe you can look into the Gothic series?

I'm a bit wary about touching Elder Scrolls games after Oblivion bored me to death. I finished the "tutorial" cave, emerged into sunlight, only to find that I needed to walk for 15 minutes without encountering anything to the next quest.

I tried out Skyrim on a friends save. I dunno, it felt different to Oblivion.

Daggerfall is older then that, and Morrowind is pretty good. I haven't played Oblivion yet, it's installing at the moment.

I believe that it's on GOG, and it's a great game. Not sure about third person though.

+1 Mount & Blade
and +1 Morrowind
Also, the Sea Reaper character in Giants: Citizen Kabuto
Also also, Drakan
and a bonus +1 to Snowboi's TF2 suggestion -- Huntsman sniper (with skill) ftw -- I can top the scoreboard often with that and jarate (but it's 1st-person)
