With them both on sale, I wanna know which would be better. Can anyone offer some insight?

Space Engies looks like a game if you have friends to play with.

They are totally different games. I love SE though for it's ultimate sandbox-ness.

I watched some gameplays of Space Engineer, and I don't like it, seems like Minecraft with 3D graphics (instead of pixelated).

KSP is more simulation and reality, physics, orbits, really interesting, and I have it since 2 years.....

i got Kerbal ... good fun even though ive spent endless hours just to perfect one launch.

Have to admit though , those little bastards are nowhere near the moon , whereas SE is already about building in space. (or i suck at building rockets)

I don't really have friends to play with, so which has the better single player?

I have not played Space Engineers, but I have KSP and I can't say anything else that this game is amazing BUT you need a lot of time and knowledge to make your spaceship work, however if you manage to do this, it's enormously gratifying.

I got them both and they are totally different games.

I'll admit I haven't spent as much time with them as I want to, but here's my 2 cents.

While they both take time to learn and experiment with, KSP will allow you to make ships off the bat without any grinding. SE on the other hand allows for a wider variety of gameplay like survival mode, and has multiplayer which works well. Since the planets update of SE, you'll need decent hardware on said planets or your FPS will drop like crazy. KSP is quite tolerant of lower performance hardware.
