Germany of course. But with all the mistakes the DEB made since 2010 I am really glad when they don't drop into Division I.

From the favorite teams I keep my fingers crossed for Finland,I like their style,it's entertaining to watch it.

Have to admit that the countries capable to win is rather limited...

My personal guess is that Finland will be in top 4, not the champions though...

They are surely not top favorite, but they have a realistic chance imo.

Yeah they do have a chance, but realizing it has been rather hard.

You don't set your expectations too high so you won't be dissapointed, but can be positively surprised ;D

Finland will be in the top 5, just like any other year. Still pretty good, considering the size of the country comparing to other participants.

It is the play offs. The best players in the world are competing for the hardest to win trophy in sports.

I don't know. The world cup is kind of a farce. Winter Olympics is more enjoyable.

Well saw 2 games today. CZR:BLR. Boring game, really boring. CZR always starts tournaments slow, they will get stronger imo.

GER:FIN. What a game. Both teams played good hockey. 1st goal of Finnland imo was a very bad ref decision before. Both teams would have deserved the win at the end. 1 point surely is more than most people expected, but germany could have done 3. Great game to watch though. Referee was bad though, too much questionable decisions for a world cup.

Spannend.

But thanks for making a dumb generalisation!

U18 besser als World Cup?

I currently live in Canada. Not really sure what the foreign language rules are here, so I will proceed to type in English.

lol. I never said everyone who cares about the world cup is dumb, just that I think it is dumb because the best players in the world are still playing for the stanley cup. I have always been of the opinion that the Stanley Cup is the hardest to win trophy of any in sports. I mean you go through a gruelling far too long season to land in the top 8 of east or west, only to play even more head to head hockey. Over and over against the same team. And then again, and again and again. I have played back to back against the same teams before. It is hard. That is why I find the world cup boring in comparison. They should play it closer to summer when hockey seasons are over.

When I was playing in Regensburg, I didnt know anyone that played that did not follow the NHL.

I didnt say that the world juniors were better, I said that I find it to be more interesting and exciting. I see CHL enough, so I like seeing what sort of players are developing in Germany and Scandinavia and the tournament is ideal for that.

I know plenty of people here who follow euro leagues. Mostly KHL, some elite league, a few DEL. No one follows the British league. I can understand why though. A lot of people watch/follow the Spengler (?) Cup. It is an interesting dynamic seeing league teams play national teams and junior teams. Just across the board unheard matchups.

Its OK. People who want can enjoy the world cup and I know from personal experience that it is hard to follow the play offs because of the time zone differences. Like I said, in my opinion, the playoffs deliver more exciting hockey.

The second time wasn't good enough. Congrats to Sweden. But hey, 2nd place, 2 All Stars plus the MVP is a historic result.

Plus only a single loss in the whole tournament. Don't know when the last time was when a team achieved this.

Still...in germany we complain a lot about our refs, but some games in this world cup really had some bad decisions, too, including the 3rd goal from the swedes today :/
