I know that feeling myself. Skidded out on some ice a few years back and it's scary as hell (and I found it weirdly fun...) Did everything I should have to try and keep control of the car but just kept snaking. Eventually skidded out on a bank of grass just before a road sign! If I'd been going any faster I would have been wrapped around the road sign! Glad your safe and thanks for the giveaway. :)

Oddly enough, I wasn't scared, I've been in a few car accidents in my life, this is the first time with a friend instead of my parents, and I was way more calm knowing it was my best friend than my step dad or mom. but I'm glad you're alright too mate.

Well, I'm joining the military, and I have no problem dying on the field for my country, but it would have sucked right before I left.

We all almost died at some point in life. I almost died from being run over by a car about 6 times. Truck: once. Explosion : once, etc

Strange, I was just having a conversation about when my mother hit a patch of ice and totaled her car (she made it out okay for the most part too). Glad to hear you and your friend are alright. <3
My nearest to death stuff was allergy related. My throat's swollen shut more than once now, and a couple times I started blacking out. :(

yeah man, it was an 85 camaro, they don't build cars like that anymore. although if we didn't hit front we would have had some more serious damage than being shaken up. Although the entire front end of the car is caved in, it's atleast fixable.

Oh wow, even stranger. She had a '96 Camaro that wrapped around two trees (the thick driver's side door pinned her, but at the same time kept her from getting killed). Got totaled the rest of the way when they cut her out with the jaws of life. Only slightly "funny" part is she was more concerned about yelling at them for cutting up her car than her injuries.

yeah, it was still slightly drivable, so we pulled down the road so we were off the hill and shoulder we were on, called my friends parents and waited for an hour for them to tow us back home at midnight, good thing it was like a 10 pm showing, my parents have no clue what happened. We're going to try and fix the car, I'd be rather upset if it was completely totalled

It was years ago now, so my memory's a bit sketchy but I'm pretty sure someone found my mom's car off the road. I can't really imagine she was able to do much with a back injury and a leg pinned so she couldn't move. Honestly glad you fared better, and I hope you can fix the car. I remember how devastated my mom was when she saw the condition it was in.

We were freaking out, thinking we were going to get yelled at for it, and his parents were really chill about it, glad to hear your mom made it out man.

Nope. It was two dudes, we were just chilling together, having some bro time before i leave for the military

I saw a girl that I really care about it, if you were in last nights baww thread on /b/ you probably saw my post, if you don't go on /b/ keep it that way ;)

~I hope she knows how much you care for her; that's really sweet that you thought of her in your last moments. :D

She doesn't know exactly... which is kind of the sad part, I don't want to just be like, hey I almost died last ngiht, and I thought of you in my last waking seconds

:( That's difficult. I think that you're right though, in that you shouldn't broach the subject in a cavalier manner. If you're able to have a real conversation with her, one where you can stay up talking all night together about life in general, that would be the best time to mention it.
~I hope you can have that conversation, and I hope you get a favorable response. :)

Thanks for giveaway, won't enter since I have the game on GFWM
Never had the "life flashing" thing either, I've had two occasions like that, what happened was time slowing down. I think the theory is your brain desperately searches through memories to see if any past experiences offer a solution, often your concious self sees random memories because of this. I guess in this case your conciousness focused on that one memory.

Great, the lousy second-rate sniper I hired is on it's way to your house right now.

The first rate sniper wasn't on sale today, but he might have a free weekend coming up

Since I need him to almost die, I think I hired the right guy for the job. :P

But if we threaten him at gunpoint, we could get like a 500 copy giveaway of skyrim :O

I don't care. I already have Skyrim. However I still haven't managed to win SotMC.

Fair enough, I actually don't like skyrim, i was just thinking of the community

I played it, and don't get me wrong, I love what they were trying to do with the game, but they made it so free roam, that you don't actually need to do the story, like there's nothing in the game that you need to do the story line for, which bothers me, being the guy I am, I play games for the story line.

yes i know that feeling too, since i'm same as you, who play for plot, character develoment....etc , but there is something randomness about skyrim make a "player who do not like free-roaming very much " like me actually enjoy it

We drove the car down the hill we were on, because we were on a hill on a blind turn, and we called my friends parents and they came to get us with their truck and dolly and brought us home

It's like an icy patch on asphalt that you can't see, so it's slick and you hit it and boom too late

Glad you and your friend made it out without a problem :D
And good luck with military school?
Closest I've to being 'RIP' was when our car crashed head on with a bus and I went through the Windscreen xD

My friend and I were going to the movies and were running late, so we took a back road because the snow storm hadn't hit yet. We kind of forgot that it was raining a bit earlier, and we hit a patch of black ice. Unlike what a lot of people say, my life didn't flash before my eyes, I just saw a girl...
So in good nature because we both made it out alright, I'll make a giveaway for you guys. 0.01 contributor value.
Enjoy guys
Update We went out today to look for parts for the car, and it turns out that an '85 camaro is actually quite interchangeable with an '89, as far as what's wrong with the cars engine wise. So we're going to try getting ahold of a car that a friend has that only wanted the engine out of it, and the car will be alive again :D
