No. You have to install the Twitch App to download and play the games.

April's games are available now (when you want to update thread)
From the email:
SteamWorld Dig 2: Taking place in a post-apocalyptic steampunk world where Earth has become a desert wasteland, SteamWorld Dig 2 is a charming and stylish Metroidvania game that has garnered an 85 Metacritic score. It’s no wonder that it won 2nd place in our Indie Amplifier.
Kingsway: Kingsway is a fantasy role-playing video game presented through the interface of a 1990s operating system…it sounds weird, but the combination creates an addictive RPG full of nostalgia. Thanks in large part to its uniqueness, it placed 3rd in our Indie Amplifier.
Tokyo 42: Take one part Grand Theft Auto 1, one part Syndicate, and blend them together along with some stylish, minimalist graphics and you get Tokyo 42. Become an assassin and uncover a dark conspiracy in the seedy underbelly of the city.
Tales from the Borderlands : Set after the events of Borderlands 2, take control of Rhys and Fiona and explore 2 sides of this adventure that has you meeting up with series favorites such as Handsome Jack, Claptrap, and more. Wait, isn’t Handsome Jack dead? You’ll have to download this critically acclaimed game to solve that mystery.
DubWars: DubWars is a music game that combines the mechanics of a top-down shooter with the power of Dubstep and Electronica music. If you enjoy games like Geometry Wars and Rez, this game will be right up your alley.

I had this same issue. Let me guess, you're not in one of these countries:
Get Twitch Prime with a Prime Video Membership if you live outside the United States, Mexico, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, Netherlands, Luxembourg, France, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Japan or Singapore.
I live in NZ and did the trial. There was no way to cancel it. I had to contact support.
It's SHIIIIIIT.

[FREE]
Not in any direct sense, no.
Wouldn't the precise and easily understandable statement of "Free with Twitch Prime" make more sense than using the [FREE] tag, which the community already has specific expectations for? Not that that modified statement is particularly accurate, either- technically, "[Twitch Prime](Potentially free)" would be most accurate, neh?
Also, while I appreciate a regular thread on things like these, this current offer was already covered in better detail and formatting here. This thread should copy off that one, if it wants to have any relevancy.

Most people who have Amazon Prime don't have it for the Twitch benefits, but for the shipping, music, and video, so for them, the games are more or less free. This is especially true if you buy enough from Amazon that the subscription "pays for itself."
My thread has been going for 6 months, keeping people updated on Twitch's giveaways. Since nothing dropped on the 1st (I did check then), I didn't update the thread, and it was only today that I thought to check again.

I'm well aware of all that, hence the points I made above.

For me, I finally relented and signed up for the free monthly Amazon/Twitch Prime trial. It was hard to resist with so many games(21) being given away this month. Mainly interested though in PoE Definitive Edition, Observer and Tyranny.

I signed up with the Amazon Prime monthly free trial, getting Twitch Prime by crosslinking both. Aside from the games, I will probably be watching movies and TV shows on the Prime Video section also. I might order some Amazon basics rechargeable batteries for my Xbox One controllers as well.

Wow. This client is hot trash already froze multiple times trying to login.
And looks like games are fucked up too, QUBE 2 has DLC, but there's no signs of it on Twitch. So looks like if you want to play full game you have to get steam version.
Also how the hell you are supposed to find whatever they have for sale there?

🖕 Someone has to whine about that every month. Multiple people, usually.
That's why it says "Twitch Prime" in the title. It's free for people who have a subscription to that service. If you don't have a subscription, you can get a free trial, and all the games that are made free during your trial. Everything has been covered multiple times in the thread already. Even for Twitch Prime users, most games offered on their platform still have to be bought, above and beyond the subscription price.

I made a mistake. Tyranny is the 16th to the 17th.

August brings the following new games to Twitch Prime Members:
Claim Your Games Here
Claim these games before August 31 and they're yours forever. Also, don't forget about the SNK Bundle (Twinkle Star Sprites, Metal Slug 3, and The Last Blade), available from Jul 3–Aug 2, so it can still be claimed through tomorrow!
How It Works:
If you are a Twitch Prime (a subset of Amazon Prime) member, Twitch offers some pretty good perks, like DLC codes, in-game loot codes, and sometimes full games. Unfortunately, these games are installed through the Twitch Desktop App/Game Client, rather than through Steam. SickTeddyBear pointed out (since I wasn't very clear),
Also, once you've installed the game, there's no need to have the Twitch Desktop App running, or even leave it installed to play the games, as MachinesAreHuman pointed out below.
If you already own any of these on Steam, I'm not sure there's any benefit to owning it through Twitch. Also note that they don't get added to your account automatically; you have to claim them. But once claimed, they're attached to your account forever.
