I won a giveaway on youtube for 54 Steam games and the guy that made it, told me to:

  1. Download (a mediafire file link)
  2. Open the installation
  3. Finish Installation and open steam.

-On Steam

  1. Create a Steam account in the app.
  2. Go to the Library tab
  3. Go to tools.
  4. Enjoy your games.

--You will need to download them ;)

I am guessing doing that wouldn't be a good idea?

EDIT: I realized that it was actually a "cracked steam" giveaway, but I won't even try to download it. I will just write to him that I did it and it worked (and thank him ofc).

Well, if you have to create a new account, with no relation to your original one, I can't see how he can hijack you.

Most probably it's a virus.

if he injects keylogger to your computer, that new account would just be a delusion and he can hijack evreything on your computer, not just the steam account.

that doesnt matter, he's also trying to make him install smth he doesnt now.. and it contains what ? trojan? keylogger? that new account can be a useless step just to confuse him with more steps just after injecting the keylogger.

whatever it is, he shouldnt do it..

Sounds like its either a virus or one of those "hacks" for steam that no longer work.

Downloading something from third party file hosting service to get Steam games, definitely sounds legit.

Why don't you just let the kid install whatever malicious tool the other guy is telling him to, then let the 'gifter' hijack his Steam account, his email and his ccard, then send his mother transsexual porn through his email? Natural selection should not be tampered with. Anyone dumb enough to do the steps described, believing he would win free stuff along the way, deserves to get screwed.
