A large portion of features Enhanced Steam provides (such as price histories, DLC categories, etc) are hosted on the server Enhanced Steam uses for API calls. When a big sale starts, this server inevitably gets overloaded. Usually it quiets down within an hour or two then it's fine until the next day's deals are posted.

A new Firefox version is available here (4.6). You can update manually now, or wait for Mozilla to review the add-on at which point it will update automatically. Cheers!

I love this, but hate it at the same time. It stops me from buying games and bundles because I see historic lows at up to 50% less than the current sale price. Some times ignorance is bliss! But seriously, this thing has "saved" me quite a lot of cash, so props to the community!

Now I remember an issue I have with Enhanced Steam: When I go to my Inventory and select any community item (card, emoticon, background...) Enhanced Steam shows the lowest selling price of that item and a link to the Market for that item, which is by the way a great feature and very helpful. But the problem is it not always works, even for the same item at different times. Nothing happens and only sometimes it works (when I do a double-click to re-select the item, but most of the times nothing happens). Is there a reason for that, and a way to fix it?
(I'm using version 4.5.1 for Firefox.)

This function was recently re-written to be more reliable. These changes are have been implemented in Enhanced Steam for Firefox version 4.6. Give that one a try and let me know if you're still having issues.

Yesterday, this new version 4.6 was working fine, but not today (nothing happened). Closing Firefox, clearing the cache with CCleaner, opening again Firefox and going straight to my Inventory to check my items seems that fixed the problem, but is not an ideal solution. As I said before, this function sometimes works and others... it doesn't (:P)

Nice side effect of showing prices in other regions is that you can easily see if a game has different AppID from the rest of the world. And boy, I wish that was not the case because they are legion, for they are many.

Hi SteamGifts community!
Before the Winter Sale started, I wanted to give everyone who doesn't have it already a heads up that Enhanced Steam is pretty much a "must-have" extension for browsing Steam during the sale.
With it, you can see price information like lowest price, historical lowest price, how many time a game has been in a bundle, and now even regional Steam store price comparisons. It will highlight the games you own and those on your wishlist. It'll make your wishlist more manageable by being able to sort by discount or filter your wishlist to only show discounted games.
Additionally, it even adds links on your profile to wonderful sites like SteamGifts!
Anyway, I hope you guys find the extension useful. If you have any questions / comments / issues feel free to let me know. Cheers!
EDIT: Enhanced Steam has now had over 400,000 downloads since it was originally created in December of 2012 (for last year's winter sale). It is used by over 125,000 people (on average) every day. The code is entirely open source and includes code that prevents it from running on pages where you would need to enter sensitive information.
