CORTEX COMMAND! Of all the local co-op games I've played, this one takes the cake.

I use a service called Tunngle (Google it). It lets you play LAN games over the internet. Very handy, especially since it opens up a ton of games to play with friends you otherwise would have to play alone (or with someone on the same network). It's free, but you can pay for a Premium account and get extra features.

If you're talking about LAN, and not split screen, then Resident Evil 5 and Borderlands 1 & 2 proved to be quite fun.

Steam:

  • Rayman Origins

  • Shank

  • Trine

  • Street Fighter x Tekken (if you can call fighting along with your friend a co-op)

Non-Steam:

  • Jazz Jackrabbit(I played only the second one, it had a coop for sure)

  • Dynasty Warriors 4 or 6 (hard to get), Samurai Warriors 2 is pretty much the same, but less popular. There's also Warriors Orochi, it combines both, I think. Good co-op games, I had lot of fun playing DW5 on PS2 with my brother.

  • I've heard there was Metal Slug collection for PC, but better grab some MAME emulator to play them, it's hard to get. Greatest co-op games I know.

  • X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse - 4 player co-op, if I remmeber corretly. Great game.

I've won Dynasty Warriors 4, gonna play 6. Cool game.

Comment has been collapsed.

Well, 6 is probably the same as 4, but with better graphics and new characters :P In comparision with Sengoku Basara, Dynasty Warriors is dull and boring :P Unfortunately, there is no Sengoku Basara game released on PC. But if you have a PS3 or Wii, I recommend getting it. The characters are much better.

Tryst was beta. Ozii is non-steam u nub. The creator of giveaway gave me Desura key for bundle.

P.S Exit this forum, you stupid leecher.

Leecher? And you know me, how, again? I give away as much as I possibly can afford, quite literally. And I don't do bundle games, only games bought on steam as a gift, and always try to take the group I'm giving away for's wishes into account. All my giveaways have been met with much enthousiasm and thanks (such as the 2 Dead Space packs I gave away because there were a lot of German people in that group, and they only have a cut version available of DS2 there, so I did that for them, or Iron Brigade, which was the 1st giveaway of the game on the site, which people loved because it flew under many people's radars and was a Double Fine game, and fun, too). I am active in and moderate a number of groups' chats, help weed out bad users on the site all the time, have helped for example find people with 4 accounts on here, and, indeed, report people who didn't activate their wins.

My bad on the report on you (and mods will know I was wrong anyway, so no issue for you), but calling me a leecher, unrelated and out of the blue? Wha-? Why?

Wow. I hadn't even looked at your profile well enough, just quickly went to your wins to check them.. You've been here a whole year, have won a bunch of games, and have given away what? Fortix, Really Big Sky, and a 0 entry cheapo DLC in a whole year. Along with that, Giveaways Entered - 3,085 // Comments - 234

You really need to shut your mouth. You're the leech here.

I'm not rich, I'm doing a giveaway when it's possible.I'm commenting only a giveaway where the creator asked for something. There's no sense spamming "Thanks".

They aren't local coop games

Permalink

Well you can play these games cooperatively over LAN, which stands for LOCAL Area Network. From the comments I'm guessing you meant split screen. In this case, try Obscure (survival horror à la Resident Evil).
