The festival season 2017 starts in Europe and I thought I will do a little Festival Train for you. As I will go to Southside Festival in Germany, the games are also indiegames. The train includes 3 bundles from indiegala.

Did you ever visit a music festival? Do you like them? What is you favorite festival?
I love them and my favorite festival is the Southside Festival. Visiting now for the 15th time
Here are some impressions: Aftermovie 2015

I will have fun and will drink a beer and think of you.
In the last 16 years I only missed two of them. One time was my final university exam and one time my first big exhibition in Austria. ;-)

Never heard of this festival before. But okay, it is on the other side of the world for me^^
Nice Line-Up. Are music festival popular in Japan?

FUJI ROCK is more than 100,000 visitors at Japan's largest outdoor music event
However, the admission fee is high and one day ¥19000 (150 €)
So, I am watching it on Youtube, I want to go there once ^^

enjoy the Southside Festival (^_^)

Not really my kind of music, I'm more a Wacken kind of guy. But thanks for the ride, nevertheless.

You´re welcome. Wacken is great and fits the most to my music style, but I am open-minded and love the festival atmospere in general.

I used to, I even set up some back in the day:) My favorite festival was probably Maryland Deathfest which I tried to attend every year from about '04-'11. I had too many responsibilities for a couple of years, and haven't been able to make the trip since but I think my favorite one was 2009 because my favorite band of all time, Bolt Thrower, played and they very rarely tour the US.

Is the metal scene big nowadays in the US? I remember my school visit in May 1999 in CT. Not sure if they liked me, wearing only black and having long hairs. But maybe it was only because of this cruel Columbine massacre short before.

Metal has always been big here, with names like Metallica, Megadeth, SLAYER, and to a lesser extent Obituary and Morbid Angel helping to foment a truly American metal scene. You had the entire late '80s dominated by hair metal which, even though I find the bands horribly cheesey, had a lot of impact. The best thing to come out of that era was probably the amazing underground punk and grunge and "alternative" scene that developed in contrast and conflict.

When I went to HS in the late '90s, though, most of the metal scene was dominated by truly horrible nu-metal shitheads. I was mostly into punk and some stuff like Sonic Youth and Pavement then so I didn't really pay attention to American "metal".

I used to go to music festivals a lot when I was younger, but I barely know any of the bands these days, so it's not as appealing to me anymore; unless it's some genre/style specific festival, cause then I know I'll at least probably like some stuff, even if I don't happen to know the band ^^
I hope you have fun, though! Have a bump :)

You are never to old for festivals^^ I use them to stay up to date with actual music, since I do not clubbing anymore. But mybe I have to stop in 8 years, when my daughter is old enough for the festivals^^
