Most movies starring Seth Rogen have tons of dick jokes. But some of them are funny. Even though I'm no teenager anymore I still enjoy some crude sexual humor if it's well executed. But I haven't seen those lately (well executed teenage humor comedy movies).

Did you miss the whole thing about Sony apparently being hacked by North Korea?

Well I'll put in a real spoiler.
The movie is about Kim Jong Un deciding to put an end to their old ways and reunifying North and South Korea, forming an economic and technological superpower. Kim Jong Un is given a noble peace prize for his efforts to restructure the once oppressive regime into a progressive one. He is elected President in their first democratic elections. Meanwhile Iran and Saudi Arabia end up in a war with each other which goes nuclear, resulting in the destruction of valuable oil wells which causes the price of oil to skyrocket. The USA is particularly badly hit by this.
Not able to afford such a large military, the USA starts downsizing and withdrawing troops from across the World. Meanwhile a relatively unaffected Korea takes advantage of this (proving that the reunification was just a clever ruse by Kim Jong Un) and starts to annex territory in the region which eventually results in the invasion of Japan. Growing in power and strength; economically, technologically and military, Korea becomes a prominent Superpower which is rapidly catching up to a US whom suffers military and technology stagnation due to a declining economy.
Eventually this accumulates in a Korean invasion of the United States. Due to an underfunded and stagnated military, confusion and a crippling EMP attack, much of the United States West Coast falls within a week to overwhelming Korean Forces. Scattered and disorganized, they are barely able to mount a successful defense, only being able to hold the line along the Mississippi river.
The War has begun.

I thought it was generally stupid, but I found James Franco (who I typically cannot stand) to be hilarious in his role. There were quite a few LOL moments throughout. Obviously it will piss North Koreans off, but the amount of BS that this film has caused is not proportional to what it is.
There were a lot of funny as hell cameos too.
I'd say its borderline worth $5.99. I live/work in and around NYC and that is literally 1/3rd of the price it costs to go to a movie around here, so in that respect its worth it. I don't think it's something that needs to be seen or anyone should rush to watch. It's good at what it is and that's just being a typically Rogen comedy that goes down easy and has some funny moments. My favorite of this group's prior films was easily "This Is The End", but I think this may have surpassed that, simply because Franco is perfect as a ham and there's no Jay Baruchel in it to ruin it.

Best movie of the year. Will win many awards.
Hopefully we will turn North Korea into a bonfire soon.

Boyhood is the movie of the year (in my opinion, of course)

Worst movie ever, I watched it jumping a lot of scenes and putting at 10x.Can't even laugh at the imperialist's pigs jokes.
The only jokes were the president of the USA making it a national security instead of a police case, and google, microsoft, sony saying that freedom of speech bla bla bla, assholes.

It doesn't have that many dick jokes, it has a lot more ass and gay jokes. I also found Franco's character to be exaggerated in his extreme dumbness. Sort of like 2 of the 3 protagonists of Horrible Bosses 2 and Harry and Lloyd from Dumb and Dumber To. It got annoying after a while... Yeah, we get it, he's really stupid, can we move on? I don't find it particularly offensive towards North Korea and Kim Jong Un. It's not offensive if it's true. And it really is. North Korea is a piece of shit country where people starve, get executed by the government or locked up in labor camps. And Kim Jong Un is a piece of shit human being. They'll find it offensive, sure, but who the fuck cares about them? Oh right, the Korean chick was really hot :D. Certainly brought up the value of the movie for me. I swear, Seth Roagen gets the most awesome female leads in ALL his movies :)). I think he's overcompensating for something.

I've seen like 10 minutes of the movie and a few clips.
Gotta say I really don't care for James Franco in this movie, overacting like crazy imo.

And it's full of dick jokes. Incredibly immature but I kind of enjoyed it anyway. It is the type of film you do not want your parents to know that you are watching.
I have no doubt North Koreans will find it offensive. Cringe worthy at some points but generally decent to be honest.
The question remains, is it worth $5.99? Not really, but the free $20 with my Chromecast purchase made me feel much better, for now.
