Will Humble Bundle get your money today?
Well, to be honest, I did buy a previous software bundle because it had actually useful software there (the one with Directory Opus, which is a nice file manager), but this one is really a joke.
Most, if not all, the software in this one is really bad: software that people should never run (system optimizers should have died in the 90's), or software that has free counterparts made by freeware or even commercial developers that is usually much, much better.
Of course everyone is free to spend their money as they wish, but this is promoting one of the worst parts of the internet. Companies that makes useless software that hogs systems and creates problems, and fills websites of bad advertising, like the many "your system is running bad, click here to optimize you computer", and from HB I expect something better.

defrag pro thingy, for what? vanilla defrag is good enough unless you already know what you need and why. Unninstaller?, useless, if you know what you're doing you don't need it, if you don't know what you're doing then it can't help you. Backup? Copy pasta isn't that hard. System care? Useless scams. Driver thingy? If you can't update a driver yourself then you probably don't even know what it is to begin with. Pointless. VPN? Dunno I guess a few may be trustworthy, but people who are into that stuff probably know what to use. Malware thingy? Best AV is common sense, AVs just slow down and annoy performance. Hotspot thingy? No idea what it is, meaning I probably won't ever need it like the rest of the bundle. File recovery? Again, those who know about it probably know what to use as well. And Auslogics? Pretty sure I've heard that name somewhere and not for a good reason, and the linked homepage? "Double your computer speed today!" trololololo. Winzip? I guess if it's a good tool one could indeed buy it, dunno, I use 7zip, which is free, though I'd buy 7zip if it wasn't. So yeah, this is worse for me than the PS bundle, and I don't even have a PS.

Like Cunin said they are selling mostly utterly useless software or ones that have just as useful free counterparts.
Also there were a few times where they sold abandoned early access titles.
But yeah, i haven't got what i wanted from HB for about a month and a half and i'm unhappy :(

All of my nope. At least I'm saving money, so that's something at least.

there is no need for a heart emoticon in every bundle you post ;p

The heart is there for easier visibility for bundles, but I and the other bundle creators mainly post it so it's easier to search in the deal section. Since there's a lot of freebies, random deals and what not, then it's smart to be able just to paste in '❤' and you will only see bundles.
A lot of people appreciate it and don't want us to change that. Plus it has been like that for 1½ years now.

oh ok i didnt knew that, i thought you only do it because you love every bundle you come across ;p

i mean if you want this sort of thing shouldn't you already have it?

Or if you don't want to screw around with learning exactly what tracking is going on so you then learn how to manually block each of them on your mobile device, which aren't nearly as friendly towards customisation as a desktop computer is. Or in the case of this VPN, split the load of online tasks between several connections to gain an equivalent of a higher internet speed.

Free VPNs are mostly able to do that succesfully but they can't promis what Uroboros mentioned

They're usually riddled with ads, paywalls for different sites (like BBC, Hulu and so on), they sometimes throttle your speed and they limit the amount of locations and the data sizes. So, for example, Tunnelbear is slower and you can only use 300MB.
Hotspot Shield has ads, paywalls and limited locations.
The list goes on and on. You'll never get a great service with the free versions. At best you'll get a temporary solution to a single issue.

There are free VPNs on browsers as add-ons which are pretty good. They're pretty good but they're ofcourse never perfect since it's "free". The down side of them is probably you cannot run them with other softwares

You're right but it's still waste of money for who don't need a VPN service.

i already had rar files that 7zip could not properly extract. so you really need both to be safe. ^^

Does anyone use winzip anymore? Windows can open basic zip files last I checked, and anything else can be opened by 7zip (open source / free).

+1 for 7-Zip, I've been using it for like 15 years... Can't believe people still even use WinZip. Or WinRAR for that matter.

Anyone have any experience with Speedify VPN and Smart Defrag PRO ? I need a good VPN (since my country is being run with dictatorship, everything is blocked) and a defragger.

I don't care about the other software but that VPN does look tempting at that price..

Probably banned by the country. The UK usually bans a lot of random sites too. Especially the female ejaculation porn. They seem to dislike that.

It apparently doesn't work on Netflix... so yeah, my interest dropped to zero on that news. But it does claim to work on youtube, bbc, hulu and amazon, so I guess if that's what you like then it would be fine.

To doo what on Netflix? I'm new to this. Just curious.

If you are subscribed to Netflix, then the content is fixed to whatever location you are in. In my case the netflix that we get only has about 1/10th of the content compared to America or other countries. A VPN can let you fool netflix into thinking that you are in America or another country and give you access to the content available in that country. So it's just a way of bypassing antiquated regional restrictions and viewing more content. You're paying the same price anyway, so why not be allowed to enjoy the same content?

That VPN is basically a Load Balancing VPN. Here is small info about what it does:
Basically, if you have 2 shitty internet connections, you can combine them together with this software and have some-what usable internet.

It apparently doesn't work on Netflix... apart from that it seems alright.

Still pricy per month... I'm currently searching for a VPN service that works with Netflix but they all are about my price range.

Not sure what your budget is, but I got a pretty good deal on lifetime Unblock All from Indie Game Bundles.

Thanks for the info but after seeing those lifteime offers I think I'll look into them.

Hotspot shield from the streamers bundle works fine for us. You can choose different regions. Sometimes it will get the proxy notice but you change region and it works. Come back later to the other region and it will generally work.

I like it, it saves me money; I buy too many bundles as it is and this makes it easy to say no ;)
(Well yeah, I would have preferred a really nice T1 with steam games from my wishlist ...)
