Recently (like 2 days ago) my computer started freezing while doing simple tasks such as watching a tv show on filenuke. I'm pretty sure based on how it is freezing (for like 10-30 seconds), it's a hard drive issue. Is the only option replacement, or is there a program that can scan and fix these errors for me? I just did a hard drive error check, and the comp has yet to freeze (been on for 4 hours), but it usually only happened 2-3 times every 12 hours. My comp is relatively decent spec wise, unsure of how to post my specs though. If someone gives advice on posting specs I will add them in.

Have you checked for malware etc?

I was unsure that malware could have such effects (as I only use the free panda antivirus it would be a wise choice to scan).

For me this sounds like one of the RAMs is damaged -> CPU cannot access certain "rooms" of it -> stuttering

memtest86.

Obviously doing a virus scan with avast or malwarebytes (both free) first is a good idea.

Regarding your unknown specs, there's Speccy. If you think it's your hard drive, you might want to read up on this wiki. Also, make sure to keep your drivers up to date, as it sounds to me like the flash player (watching a tv show on filenuke) is causing the freezes on your system, you could look up further information here

I would reccomend a full scan with MalwareBytes and then changing your AV. Panda isn't really known for its safety or efficency, as much as i love the name.

Use Hiren's boot CD (its free, google it) to test hard drive (and repair damaged sectors if found) and RAM , if everything its ok you should reinstall windows.

First of ALL. Is it Desktop or Laptop lol.
If desktop then Use - HDDScan to check Your drive - hard drive can NOT be fixed (If u get there any YELLOW ! then that's it)

To remove malware - adwcleaner

Check temperatures - with OpenHardware ( Maybe it's overheating)

If hard drive is ok, tempretures are ok, adwcleaner done and it's still freezing - Memory - or need Windows re-installation or motherboard problem.

You are welcome
