THE PUZZLE IS OVER BUT YOU CAN STILL FIND SOMETHING NICE HERE

First Puzzlemania train! Please, join the group :)

Inside: 15 giveaways for LVL1+ and 2 AAA giveaways for LVL2+

UPD1. 12.12. I see that many people are struggling with the puzzle and many do not quite understand it. So, here I give you two examples (see the attachment to the post), I hope they will help. The answers in the title attributes of the images, so just hover the mouse over an image to know the answer. The examples are probably not the best ones, they are just the ones I quickly came with. Also, the logic used in the puzzle varies a lot. It can deal just with the title, as well as with the plot or with some words playing, etc. So, do not consider the examples as everything you need. They only should point your mind toward the right direction.

UPD2. 12.12 Ok guys, I tried to create a difficult puzzle and I succeeded! Not everyone is happy about that though. People blame me about the vague questions and bad logic... So, I added hints to all questions! Now, the difficulty of the 1st part is a lot lower. Check it out! If you do not see the hints, try answer wrongly any question and then refresh the page. After you solve the first part, please tell me what you think about the questions. Were they bad or good?

UPD3. 12.12. We have first solvers of the first part!! Congratulations guys, you are awesome! Hall of fame is located here.

UPD4. 12.12. The hints have been added to the second part!

UPD5. 12.12. The hints have been added to the third part!

UPD6. 12.12. Congratulation to Migga as he is the first solver of all three ITH puzzles! What an impressive achievement! But will he manage to get access to AAA giveaways?..

UPD7. 13.12. I just added the second hint for the first question in part 1.

UPD8. 14.12. Do you want additional hints? Just vote for them! There are three different polls: for part 1for part 2for part 3.

UPD9. 15.12. The second hint for P1Q2 has just arrived! Now, this question is almost trivial :) Also, another hint added for P3Q5 and P3Q1!

UPD10. 16.12. Additional hints added for all the questions in part 3! Also, added a hint for P2Q3.

UPD11. 17.12. A big hint for the first AAA has been added!

UPD12. 18.12. Many additional hints for part 2 have just been added!

UPD13. 24.12. Only one day left! Many new hints are posted, everyone can solve the puzzle with them!

UPD14. 25.12. Who reached AAA giveaways but did not manage to solve corresponding puzzles, check them again! Solutions are waiting for you!

Hi guys, I hope you are doing great! There will be 17 giveaways in this train because SG does not allow me to create more at this moment.

First, some time ago I creative d my first puzzle, which was a really simple one. Then, I promised to create a more difficult puzzle later. Now, this is the time to do it!

Second, I created a group called Puzzlemania for all the people at SG who are addicted with awesome puzzle we are constantly solving here. I think it has some potential in the future. For example, not everyone has time to daily visit the forum to find out if there are new puzzle trains or puzzle from their favourite author or any other stuff s/he likes. We can post links to new puzzles at the group forum, so people will get notifications about them on Steam. Probably, we even can have some kind of leader board for all the puzzles. There are many ideas but we need to start with something, that's why I kindly ask you to give this group a try and join it :)

Third, the most interesting part, the puzzle itself. The train consists of three cars, you will gain access to each of them by solving the corresponding ITH puzzle. No playing with HTML code, image descriptions, XLATE, etc. Seriously. Zelgh's guide is really awesome but will not help you this time. What will help is logic and knowing some movies. No-no, don't close the page yet. You will not have to guess movies by screenshots. Instead, you will be given a number of pictures, which can serve as covers for different movies. All you need to do is to name them (movies, not covers)! Yes, as simple as that. All titles were taken at IMDB website, so you would better check your answers there.

Fourth, the rules. They are pretty usual: do not share answers, do not share links to the giveaways. Please follow them. If I notice something smelly is going on, I will blacklist everyone who is connected to breaking the rules. In the worst case, I will just cancel the puzzle (very-very-very unlikely, but you were warned, were not you?).

Fifth, the time. All giveaways will end at the 25th of December, so you have 2 weeks. It also mean that you will get your games for the Christmas!

Sixth, the prizes. They are good, although not expensive. There are 15 of such giveaways. However, if you solve all three parts, you will get three pieces of something, which can be used to obtain the access to 2 awesome non-bundled AAA giveaways. So, 17 giveaways in total.

Seventh, the hints. I personally do not like hints, but in case I see that the puzzle is too difficult, I will give plenty of them, so do not worry about this :)

Ok, now you are ready to go! Please, start here, relax, have fun and enjoy your ride!

Got everything but Q2. Since I don't watch movies that much, and you guys say it's a obscure, not so well-known movie, I'll wait for the next hint.

One question for the creator: What name do you use for movies? For example Der Untergang is the original name for the movie Downfall. Or are all the movies titles with one used name? For example Robocop is mostly only known as Robocop. Just asking to be more clear!

I'm guessing you don't natively speak English, so it's a little hard to know what you mean with Quiz 2, Q4.

Okay, I got it, though I think a better phrasing would just be 'You might draw them like this as a child', the word 'ticks' threw me off.

I have been a private tutor for some time several years ago. Do you have any questions? :)

Haha, probably nothing you can help me with. I know what Q1 are, I know what wikipedia tells me they do, I know what a thesaurus tells me they can become... I know no movies that fit any of that.

My own answer was much simpler, I like simple :P

The first puzzle has 7 solvers and the second one has 9 players, is it ok? Oo

Also, stucked at #2 Q5 for quite a time now...

I also noticed that. Probaly somebody was logged off due to a session timeout and continued solving as an anonym.

That can also happen if you use different computers and/or browsers. I have one computer at home, one at work, one laptop and a phone, for some puzzles I have used all four, resulting in three extra players. For this one, just one so far, but I'll switch computers in a few hours when I go to work :)

Do you find Q1 logical after you solved it? Or is it still vague for you?

Permalink

Actually still vague. The picture has no connection with the movie in my mind. But I guess that is just me.
The hint helped me in the right direction tho.

Not really.

I did part 2 in about 2 minutes, I'd say it was the easiest of the 3.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I dont think so. I think players just understood my logic after completing part 1. Also, I added hints to all the parts, and since initially part 1 was the easiest one (without hints), I made hints for parts 2 and 3 more helpful. Otherwise, taking into account people's progress with part 1 without hints, I seriously doubt that somebody will eventually solve part 3 if I would not provide them. With hints I would say that parts 1 and 2 are more or less equal in terms of difficulty, while part 3 is still the hardest one. That it is beacuse it contains a couple of much less known movies.
