Seriously though, haven't had any kids trick or treating for years. Halloween isn't as big in the UK as it appears to be elsewhere + I have lived in an apartment during some of that time so I guess it's less likely anyway.

I forgot it was Halloween until some people came up asking for candy but in my defense the streets were empty, there was no decorations anywhere, and the trick-or-treaters didn't even have costumes.

Welcome to Australia, where people don't want to acknowledge Halloween because they're all stuffy conservatives.

If it was me handing out stuff, I'd fill their bags with Sprite and then dump some lolly snakes and milkbottles (those white candies in the shape of milk bottles) inside.

Last year we did a giant bowl of broccoli and cauliflower. Then once they were confused by that we brought out the bowl of full sized candy bars and coupons for free copies of Plants vs Zombies.

Candy, of course, but in a creepy bowl that grabs your hand when you take a piece...the really little kids make their older siblings get candy for them...it's a treat with a trick ;-p mwahahahahahah

I might have given out a couple of 13 oz. boxes of rape last year as well.

I no longer celebrate it. But I used to give them handful of those mini chocolate bars. For no other reason than the fact that those were my favorite when I went trick or treating
