Excluding some DLC, i usually give out juice/soda for these holidays. Everyone seems to appreciate the quick drink during the search for candy.

Usually a few cans end up laying around after the fact but hey, at least that's a good indication that they appreciate it right?

What about everyone else?

Apples.

Nah, just kidding. I try to give out less common flavors - like any kid gets dozens of packs of original Skittles but how many get Tropical Skittles? Those are definitely the best kind. They're no more expensive or anything, it's just hard to find the small packs of them. If I had money to blow I'd probably give out some handmade candy or something.

If I were still in Georgia or North Carolina or another nice state, I'd hand out ammunition, but it's too damn expensive especially in Maryland.

Well, I usually hit up multiple stores to find as many varieties as possible. You see, I only allow each kid that darkens my doorstep to choose a single treat from the pile, so I'd like to ensure that he finds his absolute favorite

...before I eat it in front of him.

I give out old, dried out candy that my parents and I don't want anymore. When I drop it into their bags, I give it a shake to mix my crappy piece with all the good pieces they got from other houses and then I say "Oh, you got a lot of candy in there don't you?" like I actually care.

I'm a horrible person ,aren't I?

In Germany "Sankt Martin" is something like the Christian variant of Halloween and at my house the kids can choose 3 things from a bowl including mini mentos, maoam, choclade and such a stuff.

Well, I tried to sit like a 'douchebag' with my legs up once, but I couldn't stand to look at their sad faces. So I closed the door instead. Because I was tired.
