This one is harder than the previous one, but still do-able. And it still is high-school level maths. The previous puzzle has a solving rate of about 50%; this will have about 30%, I think. Let's see if my prediction comes true. :)

The game you can win is about strategy in wars among the stars. You need $30.01 contribution, and the giveaway will run until Monday, 6pm (GMT+1).

The usual rules apply: no hinting, no moaning, no sharing, no thinking,...

Good luck

If the questions are hard to understand (i.e. I made some translation errors, or didn't use the right term), please, let me know. I'm not used to explaining my math questions in English. :)

EDIT: I indeed made an error when I wrote the question in the puzzle. Q1 should be:
In a deck of cards there are 26 red and 26 black cards. You divide the deck into two stacks. The first stack has three times as many cards as the second one, and it also has twice as many red as black cards. How many red cards are in the second stack?

Are you sure Q1 is correct?

Pretty sure, yes. :)

Just read the question carefully.

Edit: Yeah, there is an error in the question. Completely read over it... Sorry about that...

Just guessed and solved it, not sure why that's the answer though.

Hmm. The way I see it, the stacks would have fractions of cards, if one has precisely twice as many cards, and there are 26 of each color.

same here. Seems like it might be worded poorly?

If it was 27 cards of each color, it would work.

The first stack needs to have 3times as many cards as the second for that solution to be right.

Oh... Now it worked if "the first stack has 3x as many cards as the second" instead of what it actually says in the question, which results in fractions, and doesn't even work with rounding.

It was a joke ;), still, the problems are quite easy, too bad I don't have a 30 buck contribution value or any good games given away, when I have money I'll start giving away some good games.

I reworded the puzzle twice in order for Q1 to make sense without having fractions.

I have answer to Q2 but I don't know how match reply. I put it plain and nothing. I use funtion format and also nothing.

it's just one of the normal notations for lines: y=... Also have some answers with spaces and other stuff, so...

I did one and three no problem, but having done all my math in German, I am not sure what q2 is even asking, but that may just be because math is wired to German. Off to the google! So after understanding I got kind of frustrated on the formatting of it (since I use none).

Wiki is your friend when trying to understand the question. Just search for the term and click on the left to get it in your own language. And the format is written below this reply.

Man these are fun. I'm not a contributor so I couldn't enter but I did both your challenges just for the fun of it. Thank You. (More people should do math challenges)

Ironically, I had less trouble with this one than the previous one. Maybe because I hate logarithms.

I'm not big on logs myself.

Can never remember the dang properties, have to Google them every time.

Can't seem to get #2. Damn and blast. I have the intercepts and I know how to construct a linear equation so hell if I know what's being done wrong.
