New to steam gifts, have some question about it

Well first of all Hello everyone, i just recently joined steam gifts.. It looks rather a interesting place... Anyway i wanted to ask whats this (35P) ? i am assuming its the steam points which is used to enter into the giveaway.. and can someone tell me how exactly to earn them?

They build up on their own over time. As people make giveaways everyone is given a small percentage of points.

You don't "earn them" they're generated as a fraction of the value of newly created giveaways.

You are correct. And points are gained by other users making giveaways.
So just wait and they will accumulate up to 300P max.

Im glad everyone stood up for the new guys including the mod. I myself wouldnt be rude but i did see the forum as a place as to NOT post a stupid question. that link wbarton put gave me new light though :)

Even though it may sound like a stupid question that's easily answered by the FAQ, the OP was polite about his request. Most of the answers given to him, while pointing towards the FAQ, were also really nice.

If NightFury49 had been rude or acted like a jerk, I would have understood akfas attitude, but in this case it was clearly uncalled for.
