I have a leftover steam key for Medal of Honor from a bundle. I'm pretty sure it's still usable, but not 100% sure . What can I do in this situation? Don't want a black mark on my profile :)

Someone please advise.

Just save it and cleverly drop it (in a thread) when you feel like handing it out I guess. I think there's ways to test if it's still "on" but I don't know how, ask around.

Make a private or group giveaway for people who will give consent to delete the giveaway if the key doesn't work (very difficult), or avoid the risk and not make the giveaway.

SORRY I BROKE THE RULES, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS A JOKE. I want to keep this comment because wykydvamp said I have begged before, even though I haven't (even jokingly). So yeah... I don't want to be labelled as a beggar because some random guy wants to support his argument.

No begging, even sarcastically.

You were warned in another thread about begging for games.
When will you ever learn that begging is not allowed here in any form, joking or otherwise.

I have made a few troll threads a week back. But, I never begged before, even sarcastically. So what in the world are you talking about? Either you are joking or you like to make up stuff.

When multiple people warn you about the same thing, perhaps you should heed the warnings. Or perhaps it's a waste of time warning you.

if you got a friend who already owns the game you can ask him to test it

How would that work?
Try to add it on steam, and it will tell him he already owns it, but the key is good? :D

If the key is invalid, it will tell him. Still doesn't account for a duplicate key, if that's what you're worrying about.

I think this is the best choice.

This will not help in any way. Whether the key is used or not, the friend will still get the "already owned" message.

You can either make a key drop or a forum giveaway. No consequences if the key turns out to be already in use.

You could also make a regular giveaway, but if the key turns out to be a dud, you have to either take the non-delivered on your profile or be ready to provide a working copy of the game to the winner.

Latch it onto another giveaway. An unofficial bonus two-fer.
