I just found this site. It's not something brand new, you might have heard it already. But if you haven't, you might wanna take a look at it. Basically you answer some questions and the result tells you your native language. A fun way to waste some time, right?

By the way, apparently it's not giving accurate results to everyone. So don't run to your folks to ask whether you're an adopted foreigner or not if you get an odd result.

Take the quiz

Also dialects: Singaporean and Scottish. "Native" languages: Turkish Polish and Italian. Lol. I love my Ukrainian English :-D

I just got asked "Which of these sentences is grammatical?".

Grammar overload just with understanding that sentence.

i'm not an english professor but since it's not evident if one answer is grammatical, or two or more answers are grammatical, the question seems fine to me. but again, i'm definitely not an english professor. believe me i checked with this quiz.

Yes I understood it but it took me a couple of minutes, lol! At first I thought it was just wrong, I would argue that "which of these sentences ARE grammatical" is more accurate since there were multiple possible answers to check (and all of the time there was more than one correct answer in my test).

9 years ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

yes, you can select multiple answers but you don't have to. hence your arguement is invalid. sorry. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Au contraire mon ami. If you are able to chose multiple answers at the same time then the correct should be to speak in plural, if you speak in singular is because you are limiting it to a single choice!

I would look for a grammar website to back me up on this but I'm too lazy and I don't think either of us will change his mind on this petty matter :]

No Regrets.

I speak French on a daily basis, that's not what I would call forgetting my roots. Still... I'm surprised that "Canadian" didn't pop out. (Québec is a Canadian province) And I so don't understand the Singaporean, Vietnamese & Chinese outputs... where does that come from? Anyway... well, where are your results? Did you take the quiz?

i know Québec is a Canadian province and it's not a surprise you're speaking French on a daily basis, but obviously you grew away from it. i'm sad now. stop this betrayal asap pl0x. Québec and French love you and want you back. ;_;
