Is that a linux executable? (occasionally linux executables will end in .bin, or for sfx bash scripts)

Aw, sorries. I kind of assumed it was common knowledge that you could see the contributor requirement for private giveaways on creators' profile pages.
Still, there's more than a week to catch up. )

Bump for solving both puzzles! =D
Thanks for the giveaways!

The names of the songs that are playing in those videos are 'Fossils (from The Carnival of Animals)' by Saint-Saens and 'When the Lights Go Out All Over Europe' by Divine Comedy.
As for the songs that are being played, I'll post them here once the giveaway is over.

Not in these videos, no. I figured that those who'd use online pianos to solve the quiz (and specifically use the mouse to play on those online pianos) might get a little bit upset if I were. Both songs are melody-heavy anyway, so using your left hand to play a tambourine is as fine as stroking a cat, really.

Hello, you lovely people.
Having failed at thinking up a properly Christmas-themed giveaway, I'm presenting you an Improperly Christmasy Puzzley Thingy (ICPT). A short and simple one (ends on 20.12, in case you've missed that part).
The 'Hey, I heard that somewhere!' part of the ICPT: http://itstoohard.com/puzzle/dwXjCBe7. Incidentally, the music that you hear in the clips has nothing to do with the questions. It's only the music you see that does. Honest.
The 'Hey, I saw that somewhere!' part of the ICPT: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/18493821/Imperative.knytt.bin. If you're not sure what to do with this one, look for hints in the file name.
Always go for the festive door!
Answers
Q1 - Peter Auty (the song is 'Walking in the Air' written by Howard Blake for 'The Snowman', a lovely 1982 animated film).
Q2 - Franz Xaver Gruber (the carol is 'Silent Night').
Besides the semi-obvious visual hints in the form of crude drawings (pardon my lack of artistic abilities), there were also hints hidden in YouTube tags. To see those, you had to view the page source and look for the 'keywords' block. The first video's keywords were Yksi, Joulu, and Lumiukko ('One', 'Christmas', 'Snowman'). The second video's keywords were Kaksi, Joulu, Juhlayö ('Two', 'Christmas', 'Festive night'). There were also a bunch of videos in Finnish in the related videos as part of the hint, but they soon disappeared somewhere. (
As for the 'Hey, I saw that somewhere!' part of the ICPT, it's a custom level for Knytt Stories. Fire up the game, walk through the level, take the red exit - you'll end up on a screen with the giveaway code.
