few of My picks
While it's not the newest thing out there any more, one of my favorite books on the growth of space science is "Coming of Age in the Milky Way," by Timothy Ferris.

Thank you for suggestion though. appreciate it :)

more topics than titles:
Plasma physics
Resonance
Frequency shifting (something takes one wavelength and emits another)
Entropy vs. Quantum physics
I'm not a physicist but what I've read hints that radioactivity may be due to resonance with cosmic background radiation and stars and planet cores may in part be hot from absorbed cosmic background radiation.
Don't put to much of your life into fancy physics and astronomy though, you will hit a wall because of nuclear non-proliferation and some of the stuff out there is bs disinfo for that reason.
If you want to pursue science lean more toward practical engineering.
also I remember coming across that Michelson-morely [sic?] had been redone with high precision satellites verifying aether, which last i read was thought to be a super-solid; basically one idea is everything is waves and ripples on aether (you can call it space-time distortions, or the fabric of space time, if you fancy but basically for a wave to exist some medium has to be waved)
edit: note resonance is fascinating to read up on, and will eventually have uses in medicine and recycling, but it is an extremely extremely dangerous field of research because unintended and dangerous side effects can easily occur. So don't mess with the field yourself but keep an eye open for new advancements like some of the new specially calibrated medical lasers coming out.

i am pursuing computer engg. I am in final year, only last sem remaining Yipeee!! it was my childhood(a bit hypothectical, talking about term childhood) dream to study astronomical engg. but due to some circumstances i could not pursue it. :)
Also i would like to learn About quantum physics.. but one step at a time, thus i am learning a about space a bit and then quantum physics... since quantum computers are the future to solve and provide us with ans to our many questions about space...

If you are pursuing science for fun just be careful of certain pitfalls others have run into, in particular certain types of free energy physics and math that would let one "hook up one's machines to the clockwork of the universe" are classified with good reason where the result would be earthquakes, deterioration of our protective magnetic field, or deterioration of our planets orbit.
geothermal from the earths two tropics (Tropic of Cancer and Tropic of Capricorn) and solar power as long as you offset the extra heat black solar panels collect by using white materials to balance out and reflect some heat back into space are to my knowledge both safe forms of free energy that would meet all the worlds needs.
