i would get the Logitech G230 same headset cheaper but doesn't come with the usb sound card.

I have this set,and find them to work really well.Also double as a gaming system headset.Just a bit over your $40 limit.But with being universal.It would be worth it if you are planning on using it for multiple gaming options.beaches made with turtles
