This train is brought to you by my recent repeated binge of avatar. Please enjoy the ride and the gifts that come with it. I hope you all enjoy these games as much as I will enjoy the movie when they finally make one for this series. All the fans are tirelessly waiting for it. These same fans know everything from what happened to Zuko's mom to the order that the Aang first learned the elements. Good luck and as always, comments and/or gifs/pics are cool.

Hard call. I've chosen Water bending for now. But Toph makes Earth bending looking pretty sweet and awesome. In general I liked the Avatar series. But I always felt that they wasted a lot of potential. The second season from The Last Airbender was great (the whole story about the Earth Empire, the bringing down of the giant wall, tha one episode from the view of Appa where nearly no words where spoken, .....). In comparison season three felt lackluster. That started with (in my view) unecessary episodes in the beginning where their voyage was dragged out to highlight some already known characteristics of the characters. I know it was also done to show how the people of the fire country suffered themselves and there were some funny moments like the episode with the theaterplay illustrating Toph as a two meter giant.

For the Legend of Korra .... it was still good. But the main character made so many obvious dumb decision that I wanted to punch her. And she repeated them over and over again. Her character felt .... rebellious for no point. Maybe I was too old to understand it and it may be different for a bit younger viewer but still I didn't like Korra very much. Also didn't like how they brougth down the order of the White Lotus (before an awesome group of old people, now getting stomped in just every scene). I also think I could have spared the Bolin movie star plot without missing much and maybe a bit more of the Bolin lava bender could have been integrated. The situation for the problem of Federal(?) City has never been really addressed in the series. I think the origin is cleared in one of the comics. And season two was strange. Before it was always said that each bending type has a different origin (the giant moles for the earth bender) and here it is just: Everything comes from the Giant Turtles.
And again: I felt not much of Character Progression for Korra, atleast not as much as for Aang. Legend of Korra did also not tell much about previous characters. What happened to Soka? Also would have loved if Toph and Katara just stomp the villains. Because at that time they' ve clearly been more powerful than the Avatar. Although Toph explained why they hold back.

Hm, sounds like a giant rant .... okay other people see this most likely different. But there is just wasted potential in my eyes.

I thought they said Soka died in the first or second episode, I don't remember how. I wish they would have honored him more for the great character he was. In my personal opinion, I think this overall is what I disliked about legend of Korra. They tried to incorporate earlier characters when it made no sense. There was no reason to have anyone from the last airbender in it. The new avatar was completely unrelated when reincarnated so why should a third to a half of her acquaintances have had a relationshi, direct or indirect, with Aang. They could be referenced but I feel as if in the first season of Korra all they did was go "hey, you know that show that you liked? We have those characters here to, so you should like this show too. See. See!" I just felt it was forced and it kept me from falling in love with it the way I did with the last airbender.

Have there been this many tie ins? If that was a problem I think it may relate to the setting they've chosen. They probably wanted to go with the industrial revolution in contrast to the "antique" spiritual way. Since the industrial revolution already had started in the Last Airbender Korra had to be the next Avatar in the line. It was unavoidable.

Most other relations stem from this very problem. The relation to Katara is logic because she is the most powerful water bender in the series. The relation to Aangs son is even necessary since he is literally the only Master Air bender on the whole planet (Although those Sand benders always looked like Air benders to me ....) which also emphasize the relation to Katara. Some ties to the Admiral (he was Zuko' son?) were also logic since the Fire Nation protected the city. Mentioning of Toph have also been necessary since she has been the first metal bender in history. As Avatar to learn from the best would make actually the most sense. What not was needed was the story of Toph's daughters.

If you bloodbend another bender really good, can you then bend the other elements through him?

Thank you very much and have a nice day.

Right,
still waterbending (if good enough to bloodbend) is way more overpowered than anything else.
You can make people hit themself over distance;->

Bending is both physical and mental/spiritual. If you choose water bender for the sole purpose of blood bending, I'd be concerned that you would go crazy and lose yourself. To do it you have to consciously mold people and at the spiritual level you must be at to bend, I think that would really mess you up.

Waterbender Pride! It's a shame waterbending was so underutilised in Korra's last seasons (by good guys), even though they had a huge bay nearby... Oh well. It's still cool.
