FF8, FF13, FF 13-2
Anyways, I think you do not get my point...
It is true, that most of the last boxes were not as good as we could hoped for and most games got bundled afterwards or before, but your statement that all games get bundled for sure is bullshit.
And FF8 alone was worth the box.
plus you can refund the box anytime (at least I can).

I think you should look up what sarcasm is...
Sarcasm would be "You should totally buy the box, since the humble bundle with more games for less money sucks."
Or do you want to tell people to buy the box in an sarcastic way? Then it's just bad.

I guess it's for the NA store. I got this after purchasing from EU store:
Note: as soon as you unlock the activation key, you lose your right for a refund. Therefore, we invite you to proceed with the download and installation of your products prior to getting your key.

In short, Final Fantasy games (other than the online one) have never been bundled outside of SQEnix boxes, and nothing in the last box has been rebundled since (and only one of the games in it had been bundled before).
Other than that, you're correct, the Humble Bundles have been arguably better deals, and had more exclusives (with all but the last box having only at most one exclusive game). However, perhaps some individuals want to gamble on this box being of the same quality as the previous box earlier this year.

Because sarcasm is notoriously hard to detect via the internet. But, on that note I should probably apologise for not detecting it earlier and being a bit of a tit.

No, you made a flippant reference to what happened last year.
There are a number of other suitable adjectives that would adequately describe your intentions--sarcastic is not one of them.

Two main reasons, I think:
First, it indicates likely trade value, informing people how likely it is they can trade for it cheaply or trade it off easily.
Second, it indicates likelihood of rebundling in future bundles- if a game has never been bundled before or only been bundled once, a year ago or more, it may be worth getting the bundle just for it. Meanwhile, if the game has been in 8 previous bundles, you can safely write it off in calculating if the bundle is worth buying, since you know it's likely to pop in a [potentially more appealing] bundle later on.
As gabe touched on, even just by listing the rebundle count as a bit of interest, it highlights the games that haven't been bundled. So in a way, it's a manner of sorting which games you should give the most consideration at first glance.
In the end, though, it's really just extra information, and thread creators typically just include it for completion, for the sake of those that do find it relevant in some way. It's not like there's inherent (lack of) value based off a game's bundle count. On the other hand, if a bundle is full of nothing but rebundles, it may be better to wait for a configuration of those games which is more preferable to your tastes. Nevermind that previously bundled (non-AAA) games are likely to get less interest in giveaways, so you can usually pick up the one or two games you're missing here on SG, if not by trading.
And, of course, as gabe noted, if it's a mystery bundle, the rebundle count matters quite a bit (for those with libraries of a size larger than just a handful of games)..

My curiosity also seems to assume that there are reasons beyond just mere facts or nice-to-have information. :)
Thanks for the explanation and viewpoint...even after 2 years of active use on SG now, I'm still learning stuff every week or so.
I'm not big on trading due to so many instances of fraud...it just seems too much effort to spend time on getting everything right to make sure the trader isn't shady.
And on your last point, despite the copious amounts of bundles and my growing library (only 11 behind you it seems), there are still so many games still missing from my collection. ;)
Also, (belated) congrats on reaching level 8, which I assume was in the last month or so. :)

Nor do I. $8.99 got you Tier 3 for that bundle (it was lowered from $13 after the start, see comment here).

Whatever gets me a shot at FFXIII is fine by me.. :X
Looks like they've pretty much run through their non-FF Steam Catalogue in previous bundles, though, other than Dragon Quest Heroes: Slime Edition, Just Cause 3, Life is Strange: Complete, and Rise of the Tomb Raider.
So unless SqEnix wants to give us a very delicious holiday bundle, I'm not seeing them releasing one this year (or at least not one without a ton of repeats). :'(
On a related note, LiS:Complete seems a very likely inclusion in this holiday box, given their trend toward rereleasing different versions of the same games through the bundles/boxes, along with it being the least notable of the thus-far-unbundled possible inclusions.

What games included last year? I can't remember, but some received Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition and FF XIII-2 among them.

if we have this box again my guess are :
Lightning Returns
FF 14 heavensward
Life is strange complete
Just cause 3
An Eidos Go game (deus ex go or hitman go ? or both )

Yes for JC. but :
LR is 99.99% sure . After the Xiii and Xiii-2 it's logic
FF 14 why not . Already has the Base game and the second expansion is for summer .
Life is strange and Go game are not expensive .
Ok for JC 3 but so we will have some repeats i'm afraid .

(that MMO being single exception iirc).
Huh. I checked, and yeah, both bundles with it didn't come with a steam key. How peculiar.
Maybe just didn't want to let Steam have a chance of taking a cut of that Heavensward DLC purchase cost? :P
Comment has been collapsed.
Other'n DLC concerns or Steam taking a cut of any wallet funds used for in-game purchases through Steam, I can't imagine there'd be any reason not to generate and provide the keys. If that latter one is a thing, though, that'd definitely explain it.
Comment has been collapsed.
That is a good point but you also have to realize that Heavensward rarely goes on sale on Steam whereas you can usually find it for much cheaper off of Steam. You also can't activate non-steam DLC with Steam version of the base game (I don't know why). So I'd say they win in one sense but lose in another having it not be a Steam key.

Valve takes a 30% sales cut. It can afford to be cheaper off of Steam. :X
But yeah, reading up on the compatibility issues, it really sounds like they made a mess of things there. :X

Well, Episode 1 is free now so there wouldn't be any point to that. :P

Considering that the last few years we got one around this time, I imagine we will also be getting one this year, even if so far there was no official announcement.
Hopefully Life is strange, and either FF IX or X will be in it, but that's probably wishful thinking from me lol

Around when is it usually announced for Christmas?

I'm eagerly awaiting it! And I'm still salty for missing the "Easter Surprise".
As for which games will be included, Lightning Returns is pretty much confirmed... then, if I had to guess something, I'm sure they will include the first episode of the new Hitman, both to "inflate" the bundle price, and to try getting more players to buy the complete season.
Friendly reminder that it uses Denuvo, like all recently published Square Enix games.

I was pleased with it last year. Even with some games getting bundled sometimes, it's still a great deal in it's own right.

But a few weeks later, those who did'nt bought this Surprise Box, wil be buying the Humble Bundle Square Enix 4 with more games and a better deal.

Yeah, got that one, but gave it to a friend. I don't like MMO's.

when it comes - where to find ? direct at square enix ?

I know. Just saying that there is another box. Maybe someone is interested. t(ツ)_/¯

You live in the EU so for internet buys you should be able to get a refund even with surprise boxes. Last year they did to apply to European custom laws. Sofar I have not seen a clear exception (like HH has now for the monthly's). So I think this will be a no risk for Europeans.

wow they did change their mind apparently now they're doing it

ohhh.. the title.. okay.. all the prices contained inside the topic are £
that still doesn't state anything about it being available in NA really. i know i typed up an email complaining cause i couldn't buy it at all.
edit: its only a 9month old topic when i'm talking about ~18month ago holiday. ;)

6,50€ for 7 games. I wonder what games there will be this year. Last year I shed a tear after realizing HumbleBundle had exact same games, even more, for cheaper price. Well, except the Final Fantasy code, which I never played nor used. Sooo hmmm...

happy cakeday! =)
so might be some shit games
well.. i wouldn't say shit games so much as already owned by most people though. they already kinda bundle the crap outta their games, so getting a variety of unowned games can be troublesome.. but the titles included in these things are usually still good.
