Do you wash your hands often? (i.e. not only after using bathroom and before eating)
Please don't tell me it has something to do with your nickname... :D

Really? What do you do with them, then? :D
My mother is a florist, her hands are covered in sap from time to time and when it dries it's really hard to make your hands look clean again.
Thank you! And thanks for a cute gif :3

You can't get pedantic tho and wash them every time you think there is little bit of dirt on them. It will kill symbiotic bacteria and tamper with your skin natural resistance mechanisms. Aka dry it and remove needed sebum.
You shouldn't also wash your whole body everyday with soap / shower gel and wash your head every day

Yes, I totally agree with you. We should strive for maintaining the philosophical "golden mean" in every aspect of our lives, though :)

I wash them too many damn times (knowledge of microbiology is a curse). :/ Maybe I should wash them less, but I can't. xD Happy birthday.

My mom is a health inspector so I've had that drilled into me my whole life. I credit never getting sick to the good habits she taught me :D
I used to work in a restaurant and I was the the only person who regularly washed their hands. I was never once told to wash them by management in two years there.

Many, Many times a day as I work in a microbiologic lab :D (hands so dry qq)
On none work days before and after food, after toilet and if I spilled something.
Be careful not to wash too much as that will kill all the good bacteria too(and healthy skin oils)

I don't count but quit a few times and I use an antibacterial soap.
Thank you for your giveaway, Ihatesovietrussia and Happy belated Birthday! ^^

Due to itchy/dry skin and eczema I have no choice but to avoid frequent contact with water and soap on my hands.
However, I still wash my hand before every meal and after going to the bathroom.

A lot of people without such issues don't do it, so that's especially admirable of you.

Too often. Always before touching food or my face, before and after applying any creme or such stuff and generally after using the bathroom of course, after touching a wastebin, the floor, an animal or any doorhandle or surface (public transport or shopping carts, ugh!) that is also touched by strangers (or non-strangers of whom I know they lack hygiene). In winter my hands are sometimes bleeding because of this which is probably not much healthier than cleaning them not often enough, but it's somehow compulsive. I also always have some hand sanitizer to go in my handbag.

If your hands are bleeding you are most likely making your skin too dry by washing your hands. I have/had the same problem (well more like very dry skin), but using 'only' warm to hot water every second wash really helped.

I wash my hands at least 15 times a day. I basically do it everytime I'm near a sink. I don't always use soup though as it does make my skin dry. Rinsing them under warm water does the job though every second time.

Rinsing does get rid of a lot though. (Mythbusters tested)

I might have washed my hands 5 times since my birthday on the 19th. The last time I had a shower though was the 18th.
Anyhow thanks for the gib and happy belated birthday

Hello everyone. I'd like to know how often you wash your hands.
"Why?", you may ask.
Well, because in our beautiful world, where complex medical knowledge is just a few clicks away, people tend to neglect the possibility of prevention of many diseases. I could rant about it for a while, condemning mothers who suck their child's pacifier before putting it in his or her mouth, but I won't. Instead, I ask you to take a look at this page and especially at the topic of "How to Wash Your Hands", since simply rinsing them doesn't count.

Also, it was my b-day 10 days ago and I forgot to make gibs. Sorry about that. Hope this will make up for it.
