Why did people buy betas now?

lol i got dota 2 beta (on my birthday) and cs go beta (on mothers day) directly from valve

I'm not really into those games (I got CS:GO and didn't play it) but I would pay for early access for a game that I'm really wanting to try.

Awww, most people woh have CS:GO Beta, don't even play it! >.>

I wish I could give the betas away that I have barely played. Played only 7 mins of Dota 2, and 45 mins of CS GO, over the span of a few months.

Some people want to play it earlier, and they are willing to pay/trade for that. It makes sense.

People who got CS:GO beta kinda paid twice for the game :P
First beta, then real version.
In few years, publisher release betas and start selling them because they seem to be selling so well :D
So, people pay for being allowed to buggy game.

CS:GO runs smooth and i cant find any servers at all with the "Failed to join game" problem Dota 2, well i tried it its good but its like world of warcraft and starcraft 1 put together.

Impatience, over-inflated sense of entitlement, absence of fore-planning, inability to accurately judge value, or having too much money.

Take your pick.

Why? Because Gabe says that guy gets it and not you. People go crazy and spend money. I traded for my copy and honestly the game has many improvements, but just not enough to even keep my attention span anymore. I've played way too much Counter Strike.

This is the age of kickstarter people are buying games that may never been (although most probably will)

simple: PEOPLE IS STUPID...

fans waiting for a game, they will do anything to get in... like i would say i got beta for warcraft IV and only pp that played wrcraft iii every day got it, im sure somebody would pay 500 dollars .
