Q+A Section

Q: What is Steam "Greenlight"?

Steam Greenlight is a system that enlists the community's help in picking some of the new games to be released on Steam. Developers post information, screenshots, and video for their game and seek a critical mass of community support in order to get selected for distribution. Steam Greenlight also helps developers get feedback from potential customers and start creating an active community around their game during the development process.

Remember to VOTE "yes" for the games you would like to hopefully get Steam keys for in the future.

Q: So .. When do I get the Steam keys though?

  • A: You will get Steam keys when 1) The game gets enough Yes votes to become GreenLIT, 2) The dev of the game releases the keys, and 3) DIG distributes the keys to you

Wondering what games you already own from this bundle? There's an extension/ UserScript for that! It's called the RaChart™ Enhancer, created by my friend and fellow SG member Sighery!

This script enhances the charts by showing you which games you already own from the ones in it. If you own it, the row will be highlighted with a green color.

Just a note, the age-restriction gate seems to have been placed by one of the devs for horror/dark content

"Bundle purchase includes adult content!"

Probably a VN in there? Considering that eviscerating somebody in front of the camera in slo-mo is not considered adult content in Murica, but half a boob is. :)

I can say its not because of booby content but it is there for a VERY good reason.

Huh. I wonder what Steam flags as adult content then. Although I wouldn't be surprised if simple violence or some horror elements would be on the list now.

Big ups for you dropping some real hints for once, Jamesbuc!
That's very rarely anyone on Groupees takes the time for that anymore, sadly.
What prooobably not makes me get this bundle is the focus on itch.io as I don't use alot and recently heard they had more or less in stealth removed games from peoples accounts, that im not a huge supporter off.
I can see you thrown in 4 GL games in the mix as a bait for us Steam addicts, are any of them Greenlit or just out on Greenlight?
Also for the non GL games, if they once would reach there.. Are we provided keys?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

All four games are on greenlight right now, one even went on just in the last week. If they are greenlit and hit steam, they should be providing steam keys (in addition, the other games are under the same contract should they ever make it onto steam - two games from my first Gems bundle have gone through greenlight afterwards so it isnt impossible).

While we do have itch.io keys, theres also DRM-Free builds on Groupees itself. As far as the hints go, I just like doing them, it makes things more fun.

I have yet to buy one of James's curated bundles (this will most likely be my first), so I do have some question someone might answer.

I do buy all the greenlight bundles, and this looks like it starting to head that direction. I am wondering if the games that are not mentioned as greenlight are strictly DRM-free games. Are they working on getting on greenlight or not.

I do like buying greenlight bundles and I don't mind if it doesn't make it on steam at all. But I am not a fan of the itch website currently (maybe later when they finish there ui).

Thanks for any answers.

sometimes greenlight games are offered DRM free. You will know by visiting the bundle page and clicking the game. if it comes with an itch.io link, these are offered as DRM free downloads

Here is a Q+A I have prepared for Greenlight games/bundles

Hi - Games that are not mentioned are strictly DRM-Free and I cant really say if they are working on being on greenlight. It should be worth noting two things. One - buying even just the four greenlight titles when the bundle launches will be a little more than the preorder. Two - non-greenlight games, if they later go onto greenlight/steam, are still required to provide steam keys.

Oh and three, if you are not a fan of itch.io, theres DRM-Free files on Groupees itself.

Comment has been collapsed.

Thank you, I did not know when you spoke to the developer if they mentioned to you since you where putting them in your bundle.

I already planned on purchasing this on due to the four greenlight games.

I did not know that they would have to supply keys for just being is this bundle as I thought it was just itch.io, unless specified. That is just another reason to buy, as I like getting games in the future.

Thank you for the clarifaction.

Not too picky, it is merely the fact that these do not catch my fancy. Here are a few in Itch.io that caught my attention while I was trying to figure out that $15 hint :P

Some that are free but worth a shout out anyways :P

All Digital Homicide games give me trading cards that usually sell quite well and they have accessible steam keys on the itch .io site ,unlike a lot of other itch devs.
You can't knock 'em in that regard.
