Because this is the internet, no one expects to recieve something from a stranger without asking anything back.
EDIT: and i replied to the title, and not the description, silly me :)
That is why i stick to group giveaways, i know who to trust, just like you can see a troll in every forum, or an "anarchist", or simply someone stupid enough IRL not to read through stuff first (hell, i've read the thread title and replied to that first).

But then again to a lot of the people they seem to think that if they make a giveaway then all the people signing up are there to buy them the game : p.

Yeah that too, cant blame them though, before i read the description of the site, i thought there was something similar involved, thankfully i did read the whole FAQ upside down before i actually enter or create a giveaway.
I guess the why on that matter could be explained on the edit on my post, at least thats what i think about it.

This is something that has always been in the suggestion box, but it's quite a massive undertaking given that SteamGifts is entirely developed by one man. The closest we have for translations is FAQs that are a little out of date in several different languages.

How about a quiz on the FAQ as part of the sign-up process?

How do you know they are fake? Some people may just have the privacy setting such that gifts remain private to all...

Many are pretty obvious of 1) not owning the game that's somewhat expensive 2)registered 12 minutes ago 3) steampage has 3 games with TF2 as their most played.
Not because the game isn't showing in their inventory.

It is a whole lot of red flags that raise concerns though. It's incredibly rare for someone who doesn't game all that much and haven't bought much for himself to start giving something of worth out. It is a pattern and it's correct most of the times.

I should have said these are the signs that tend to be fake. Would that be more acceptable?

Mine as well.. mine as well.. but I was trying to say that their entire list of games is f2p not that TF2 is bad in anyway.

So many fake giveaways due to user ignorance. Is it just the average age of this site?
