What do you think about this?
this i very insane, theres no oficial report of a program or OS that can sniff your machine, aka your files and tell wats pirate or not, it would be a invasion of personal space and files, they can add blocks for pirated programs to work, but they cant sniff your files its against law, sure there a number of ways to do it, but not exposed to everyone.
And here comes the trick, microsoft will help some programs keep update via windows update, the ones on their list suport IF pirated gonna go down and hard, well at last this is the oficial report ms give on their eula.

How is this an invasion of privacy, that like saying in an invasion of my privacy if a cop runs my plate and finds out my care is stolen and pulls me over,as if they did not check the plate they would have never know it was stolen.
I think the company has a right to do whatever they have to verify the product your using is legit, your not forced to use it,i am still against DRM as i think its not the right solution but they still have the right to protect there product.
You worried about Microsoft sniffing your files,am i the only one that does not put any stuff i do not want found on a pc that is connected to the net? i have an offline pc for important things i do not want to get out.'
I think the only ones that would have issue with this are pirates, and they will use privacy as a means to bitch about it,NSA has already sniffed all your data if your in the U.S. and have it stored on a server lol

you have no issue over some program reading your files and programs to understand wat is legit and pirtate? Read again wat i said before you try show your maestron of right or wrong please? i said that none have the rigth to search your files, but that microsoft found a window(haha) using a list of programs they "suport" and since this programs will be suported by ms, windows can try to find if they are original.
Then again i never said "dont touch my files", max will be found out is some cat girls and a lot of text from work files over it, but i do think you guys give nsa too much credit, cause if they have time and space to copy paste every machine in america they should fire the lider of the project and call someone who would focus better the resources and use risk groups as primary targets...
Ah yes read the update see if wat i said was that wrong about suported programs only.

I never give NSA credit i just do not care what they do with my files because well i do not keep things on it that i do not want others to know about not do i talk on the phone about stuff i do not want others to know about. It is easy to keep your files private you just do not share them.
I am not saying people should not be worried they can if they want to i was merely trying to point out that if your worried about privacy on the internet and your pc maybe you might want to rethink using it as the internet is the new wild west and pretty much anything goes and with pretty much everything you is being tracked in one for or another you really left privacy behind the moment you connect to the internet, the same way you leave privacy behind once you step outside.
The only difference is i do not really care if they do and you do,which is fine, but i am not going to be for something that does not bother me just to have something to talk about.I have better things to do then worry about what others are doing,i have my life to live, and i will not spend it trying to keep all of it locked away like some hermit.
I knew what windows 10 did and collected before i installed it and if i did care i would not not installed it,but now your spreading your propaganda and do not like if someone does not agree with or they do not care you make it seem like they are wrong for not caring.
you have no issue over some program reading your files and programs to understand wat is legit and pirtate?
So to be clear NO i do not as my windows is legit and i do not use any other Microsoft stuff that is not included with Windows,so if they want know i like Micheal Jackson and i play Arma and i watch netflix more power to them
I still do not get why someone who wants there files to be private they would keep them on a device that connects to the internet to start with, use a computer not connected to the net for sensitive files.

propaganga? Pff or you really are trying to be funny or your have some serious troubles about your reading, anyway you dodged the entire point, ms is not reading ppl files, just some programs that they will provide suport over windows(be xbox, phone or 10) and if the program is detected as pirate it will be blocked, simple as that, and work wonder on the videogame pirate industry i think.
I really dont care about your opnion i just rebating your distorting points, but hey its a free world and the wild west you said was also one so do your thing, this is no propaganda is just a fact, like it or not even if you dont care about your files been see for other ppl or not, other ppl will do care and even scream about that.
Just read the update note, you dont like my point, thats ok for me, you want discuss it try a bbs or some chat, this one here is over.

they will never (even if they can) block those users.
they could block all the pirated office and windows versions and fight against all the cracks but they don't.
If they would start blocking people out of their own system, that would lead in a giant (i mean giant!) shitstorm and would mark the end of microsoft as an OS.
Maybe they are "evil" but they are not totaly dumb.
also:
the hardware is a bit different. there are two different cases:
if you use an oem version (and you don't live in europe) than your system is linked to your systembuild (by now it seems, that the link is "just" to the mainboard and to the hdd). If you change this, your version will not be activated anymore.
if the hardwarecompany don't licence their driver on microsoft (and microsoft will take money for this afaik) you can't use the hardware.

You can get all of them for the right price, ebay and other places still have disc version of them games and if pay the right price i am sure someone has a copy of these for steam.
There is no excuse for piracy even if you can not get it retail anymore because there are still ways to get the game.Even if the game was no longer obtainable you should not have the right to pirate, you should miss out on like everyone else has to,just same with a car that has only 100 made and you did not get one before it sold out,you do not simply go and steal one so you can have it.

That's why Windows 10 has been given the seal of approval by the FSB, NSA, CIA and the like...Microsoft keeps making it easier for itselves and third parties to snif and snoop around in millions of computers running their operating systems and then to " phone " the data home where it can be checked and given to " others ". And the most likely excuses to do this wil be: " it's to give our customers a better experience " or " it's to fight global terrorism "...

Once again, people are jumping into consclusion without making a proper research first.

First of all do not Pirate.
Secondly Micro$oft was and will always try to make its users more and more dependent on them. Likewise every piece of their software can be obtained by illegal means whatever security they may have. There will ultimately be 3rd party programs disabling W10 nuisance parts for users who concerns about privacy (in general context like ID, CC information etc., not relating to illegal content particularly). Ultimately Windows will be a total Online-OS where you won't have rights to do many things :)
Lastly as a rule of thumb, skip Windows OS pioneering and join when SP1 released (for any version) where many problems will be resolved mostly in users favor. If all fails stick to your current OS, preferably Windows 7, or try Linux distros like Ubuntu for a change.

Windows 10 will come to Xbox One, this is why it says about disabling pirated games.
And Windows 10 is pretty damn stable, stop thinking that big companies wanna take over the world (except Google, Google does want to take over the world).
Comment has been collapsed.
Windows 10 might be stable but there's a decent amount of games that don't work properly or don't work at all on Windows 10.
Of course from what I've seen so far most developers do fix that when it's reported but some can't due to engines they used to create the game.
Comment has been collapsed.
The only ones not working seem to be those that used Directx 5 or lower.
Every single game I have tried out works just fine so far (Mass Effect series, Halo 2 Vista, Watch_Dogs, Witcher series, Skyrim, Tomb Raider 2013, Hitman Absolution, Deus Ex series, Halo Online, etc.)
Comment has been collapsed.
The first Deus Ex game was from the year 200; Halo 2 from 2004. I think they are comparable to indie games in terms of retrocompatibility.

I've taken a pretty decent look at Windows 10 and so far at first glance it is not any different from 8.1 just a little quicker.
I ain't the type that believes in some dudes speculation based opinion.
Cortana is a nosey bitch though. She enabled the web cam and microphone for all Windows approved apps without asking for my consent : ), unless that is written somewhere in the EULA idk but whatever, I use Linux for work purposes where confidentiality is a priority and data theft is a concern.
Back in the day there was or maybe there still is a file called ADVAPI.DLL found in the Windows directory, when this driver was discovered by researchers they found two keys capable of injecting and extracting data and programs. One of the keys had a filename of NSAKEY and when Microsoft was asked if they were working with the US government regarding this they never denied it.
Microsoft, IBM and most companies of the same ilk have since been proven to work closely with such government organisation like the NSA and GCHQ. Most national governments from across the globe have tried to counter this snooping by the worlds most popular operating system.
How much of this concerns you is you're problem. If you're concerned with you privacy being violated then use Linux but for your entertainment needs I can't see how windows can harm you by sniffing around gathering data on your habits all day every day : )
Anyhow this is an interesting talk by an accused rapist and his friends on similar topics.

Good to see this, seems like lately games are dirt cheap to get used or after a few months post release especially when steam does it's seasonal sales. So unless you have 0 common sense about pirating things you can easily go buy & afford, you should be good. Also for many games & other things pirating doesn't show any kind of financial support to a company to keep going & make more awesome games or whatnot, sure people are talking about the game & having fun but without the sales the company will sink.

Everyone running around worried about privacy yet i bet most use facebook and google and they are no better then Microsoft ...better quit searching and tagging friends on facebook.
Facebook logs all that you post and message,so all it would take is someone to hack them and release your stuff in the wild.If your in the U.S. good ol NSA is keeping tabs on you.
Google does the same and sells your info to the highest bidder, not that i care if they see me porn browsing maybe they would enjoy it as much as i do.
I find it funny how everyone gangs up on Microsoft, and before you scream fanboy,i am not but i do not think they deserve all the this like they are the only one that collects data and stores or sells it and does other things with it,Google collects and saves all your searches and other date and so on,so for the right price someone could find out what you have been doing.
In the end if people want to know what porn i look at,what games i like to play, and what shows i watch on netflix more power to them.I am all for privacy but when it comes to what i do on the internet and pc i do not share or keep anything on it that i want to keep private that just common sense,That like not wanting any nude pics of me to get out, well then i do not take any simple as that you can not do something.
Phones track where you go and what you do,they also log things but how come nobody says i will not use my phone,i guess because they are married at the hip to it,and call it a "necessity" so they over look how it spies on you or how it can if someone hacks it.All your phones calls and texts are stored on a server, everything you upoload/send is saved to the cloud yet everyone still uses there phone without merely a hint of outcry of privacy.
You can turn most the stuff of windows does, but just like with Windows 8 it will still collect some info,i guess i better not go outside because my neighbor might see me and take pictures and such, damn no privacy.
Also again like most of the concerns with Windows 10 the person that posted this jumped the gun before getting all the facts and made it seem like they would check all hardware and software when it was for there own stuff and nothing else.
Either way even if they did it for all pirated stuff, the only ones that would care are those who pirate.

It's really nothing to worry about, the pirate community has always been far more dedicated to stopping anti piracy tech than any company has ever been dedicated to maintaining it. Which is why it's been pointless the entire time, and only ever annoyed legitimate buyers. Some group of pirates will have software that stops it within weeks of the first program being disabled.
Comment has been collapsed.
For software: we've had it coming. Honesty, what did you guys expect from an OS that's pretty much perma online, that comes with an App-Store like on some freaking mobile? Controlling exactly which software you may or may not run is only consequent.
As for your question to hardware, why'd they do that? Well, off the top of head, I can imagine, they'd want to block certain screen capture devices, that might be able to directly write DRM protected streams to your harddrive, or certain devices that might be used to bypass crypto dongles, or maybe they just don't want you to plug in an encrypted harddrive using some weird algorythm they've got no backdoor for yet, so they can't access your porn collection ;-) The question is just how reliable that blacklisting will be, knowing M$, I kinda fear, that there will be false positives, e.g. your good old digital camera stops working due to blacklisting.

"Microsoft has changed the terms of its EULA (End User License Agreement) for Windows 10 to allow it to sniff around and disable illegally obtained software and indeed hardware. That means if you have pirated games or applications on your PC, or you've hooked up what Microsoft describes as "unauthorised hardware peripheral devices", the firm can block you from using those on your Windows 10 computer."SourceWhat this means is that you wont even be able to pirate things just to check them out and see how (and do) they work and are they worth buying. With the steam refunds I guess that's not as big of a deal now for majority of games and some software, but on the other hand you can't refund a lot because if you do you get blocked from asking for refunds. Also there are a lot of software that are not and will probably never be on steam.I also wonder what's the deal with them blacklisting and blocking certain hardware.
Also what happens if you pirate Windows 10? Does its feelings get hurt when it finds out it's just a pirated copy and it kills itself?
EDIT: THIS ONLY APPLIES TO GAMES AND SOFTWARE IN WINDOWS STORE!
"Microsoft can disable “counterfeit games” and “unauthorized hardware peripheral devices” according to the recently updated Microsoft Services Agreement. The agreement, which pertains to the Windows store, suggests they can detect pirated first-party XBox and Windows games you have installed. It’s not clear what “unauthorized hardware peripheral devices” refers to, but “counterfeit games” means any first-party Microsoft published game."
