It's a site for giving away games you don't want, or buy specifically to give someone else the chance to try a game you love that they might not normally buy for themselves. As for why the link, sometimes devs give away copies of games to drum up interest.

It's a place full of causal gifters.
Go while you still can, don't get addicted like the rest of us.

You found the forum side of the site. Not sure if you found the giveaway spot. Anyways, In the top left corner of the page, you will see a button named Giveaways. Click on it. As people donate games to the site, you earn point you can use to bid on the games. Its a basic raffle. For small cheaper games, you might find raffles where only a few hundred people are entered, and your chances are high. On a AAA $60+ game, expect to join thousands in the raffle. You can only enter each raffle once. Your maximum points available to join raffles is 300, so enter raffles often.

Until you donate some games yourself, you will only be able to enter Lvl 0 raffles. Donate some games, and you will earn points toward the next levels. A lot of people (myself included) like to set raffles a few levels up, as there are a lot of people on here that only leech games, but never give any in return. This is completely acceptable, but you will be in the pool with the most people in it, and I know a lot of the bigger games are set in the higher levels, to reward those that have given lots in return.

Don't expect to win the first day, or even the first month, but it is possible. I have won about 10 games so far, and have given away about 5-6, and will be giving a few more away soon. Mostly what you will find is people buying bundle packages, and giving away the games they don't want, or have duplicates of. Or a lot are giving away games, in return for some publicity (Cheap advertising) to visit their YouTube channel, website, or to greenlight their game. And lastly some people just like giving games away. Hope you enjoy the site.
