Can I check if a game has been given away for free before?

Pretty basic question. I've been doing a lot of trades recently on steamtrades, and I keep getting offers for the same games, which I come to find out were given away in bulk to anyone who wanted them (IE, IndieGala giveaway, etc). Is there a master list somewhere in the cosmos of the internets that shows all given away games / "freebies" so I can ctrl + F and search game offers?

You can also search the discussions for any thread made about it, they usually make them for free games.

Maybe the simplest solution is to try to create a GA here on SG. If it's not allowed, the game was free.
