Is Blood Sugar Sex Magik the best album ever
"The best" is always disputable.
I do think it stands the test of time pretty well though.

Screamadelica, Blue Lines, Cypress Hill and Step in the Arena all came out in 1991. Nevermind came out the same day. It seems unlikely.
PS. Thankyou Wikipedia.

When I was a teen, my best friend at the time LOVED RHCP and he played them constantly.
My only respite, other than sitting at home alone, was my other friend. But she worshipped Aerosmith and had them on an endless loop.
So. TLDR; the 90's sucked, musically.

It depends on my mood. I do sometimes think it is the best album ever, but currently I'm mostly listening to PJ Harvey.

Absolutely, but first Rage Against The Machine and NIN Pretty Hate Machine are as same good.

I could never pick one favourite album out of all the albums in the world, but when it comes to RHCP, Blood Sugar Sex Magik certainly is great.
It's hard for me to pick even from one artist their best album sometimes and RHCP is one of those bands.
If I had to choose just one, I might pick Blood Sugar Sex Magik, but Mother's Milk is pretty much dead even with it for me :D.
Even the often hated One Hot Minute is great in my opinion.
I don't really care for their first couple of albums, nor their couple latest.
They have some good tunes, but are just not great albums imo.
RHCP certainly was at their best in the 90's.

It's right up there with Nevermind. It's my second favorite RHCP album, Stadium Arcadium being the first. Objectively speaking (if such thing is even possible when it comes to musical taste), BSSM is probably better, but Stadium Arcadium reminds me of my first year in college and all the wild parties at the time. :)
Have you checked out their new album, the Getaway? It's actually pretty good, even without Frusciante.

I think that's why I love BSSM so much. It was released at a time when I was revelling in my teen party days, brings back a lot of great memories and I know if I play it with certain friends there will be an instant connection.
I have only listened to a little of their new album. Seems to have a hint of the BSSM funk vibe.
