I felt just like you until I started to exclusively make giveaways for community trains, puzzles or groups (especially groups like TalePlay or Playing Appreciated if you care for your games to be played and have feedback but not exclusive to those). The average Joe on SG is more often than not just bots, people who came to leech or people who will probably never play / finish the game. Dunno what other people would think about my stance but I don't really care for people who see this as a game printing site.

Setting a giveaway to level 5+ cuts out 90% or more of the most prevalent bots
Even level 1+ gets rid of like 70% i think.
And another 10+ at level 2+
it slowly scales down from there, since most bots / leeches do not care to invest money to be able to enter giveaways.

For user that care about ratio, there's always SG Pillars, though you need to be at least level 5 to join.

I also do say "thank you" when I win, or when reached by the person in question; and I enter only games I'm interested. It is true I'm yet to make my own giveaway(s) but given the volatile values of games; I would hate myself for making few giveaways, only for a some point in the near future for the site to say "nha, those games are close to free or free a year or two later after you made it. get f*).
Don't take me wrong, Im not against the system, because it works, its just that as a mexican on Mexico; the games are a bit more expensive to adquire than they appear, to then quickly lose any progress made throught that, feels wrong...but thats also why the system works; or works now when EVEN Steam had issues with regional pricing when people were buying games on a cheaper currency conversion.

If you need games for giveaways try looking up hitsquad godfather on twitch you get the normal twitch points for watching but can exchange them for vouchers you can spend on Steam keys on their store - I have loads of giveaways made with key this way (maybe 20 - 30 or more)

Hey there . Long story short , returned after many years and went straight into making some giveaways. After a few were completed and out of curiosity , I checked if the winners have added the games (cd keys) to their steam account , the wining/giveaway ratio etc etc. Bit of a shocker to find out examples like that : https://prnt.sc/_o4WEFPYvdDw . Shouldn't be there a limit regarding how many giveaways can someone enter if his wins are huge comparing to the ones he offered ? PS: To some of the guys in this community : say at least a thank you and complete the feedback procedure since you redeemed the game....
